Tent City.
Despite claiming that his Tent City jail is a "concentration camp," Sheriff Joe Arpaio sure seems accommodating.

Not only do we get press releases from the Sheriff's Office letting us know that Arpaio's cooling off the inmates when it's hot, but we now have a press release from MCSO letting us know that Arpaio's doing just about everything but cuddling with the inmates at night to keep them warm while the temperatures are low.

The self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in America "would like families and friends of inmates incarcerated in Tent City to know that their loved ones will be fine, despite the low temperatures," today's press release says.

Inmates will have access to an unlimited amount of blankets, 24-hour access to a heated room, and hot chicken broth will be added to the evening meal for an "added touch."

There's no mention of warm milk, cookies, or bedtime stories.

Simply give them more blankets and they will be fine. Everybody else does and it works for them. Why waste money on heating when blankets will do just fine.

They are criminals, who gives a shit.  Hopefully the cold will kill them and save our tax money.

@ICALLBULLSHIT is a typical example of an Arpaio supporter: sadistic, un-American and un-thinking - apparently it didn't occur to his ill-formed brain that, if people die in custody, it costs the taxpayers a very large bundle.

Here are a few examples; there are many, many more.
Deborah Brillard: around $6 million including legal and other fees. - No insurance

Or

Juan Mendoza: nearly $2 million with everything - No insurance

Or

Clint Yarbrough: around $3 million - No insurance

Or

Brian Crenshaw: around $3 million - No insurance

Or

Charles Agster: close to $4 million - No insurance

Or

Scott Norberg: almost $10 million - mostly covered by insurance that the County no longer has.

And, some doozies coming up:

Marty Atencio - $30 million ??

Raymond Farinas - $10 million ??

Ultimately, Maricopa taxpayers can look forward to legal bills approaching a Billion dollars from Arpaio's activities.  Followed by a wrenching reassessment of the institutions of the County after such a failure of the rule of law, and by economic consequences lasting for decades.

Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small.
