Joe Arpaio: Red Mountain High School Plot "Almost Meets the Profile of What Happened in Connecticut"

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio claims his detectives may have prevented a "serious mass murder" similar to the one carried out at an elementary school last week in Newtown, Connecticut.

While referencing the Connecticut shooting several times, Arpaio explained yesterday morning 's arrest of a 16-year-old student at Red Mountain High School in Mesa, who's accused of making a threat on the Internet.

MCSO says a man who runs a YouTube account on behalf of a transgender community in Toronto reported the post -- a text comment from the girl on one of the transgender community's videos -- to police.

Arpaio couldn't elaborate on why the girl would threaten a high school in Mesa on a YouTube account run by a transgender community in Toronto. Arpaio, who's a bit technologically challenged, referred to the owner of the account on "the YouTube" as "the owner of the Web," so it's not clear if he understands the Internet facet of the investigation.

According to MCSO, part of the online post read, "I now literally have a plan of seriously hurting... killing... murdering people in my high school."

Another part said, "I WORK at the high school as a student teacher basically...which is why no one can find out about me somewhat accidentally planning to blow up the school. (and yes... it would be super easy...)."

Toronto police found out the post came from the Mesa area, and reported it to MCSO on Wednesday night. Arpaio said he wouldn't elaborate on how they tracked down this girl -- although he gave a shout-out to "Cox cable" -- Sheriff's Office detectives tracked down and interviewed the girl yesterday morning.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the girl told detectives that "she was scared because she thinks she may really carry out the plans detailed in the post, and 'f[uc]king kill everyone.'"

Although there were three guns in the girl's home, they had trigger locks and were kept in a safe, and they belonged to her parents, so they weren't seized.

However, Arpaio said the girl's parents told detectives that their daughter had "a history of mental-health issues," and had recently been asking where the guns were kept.

Arpaio said this was "sort of an intervention" for the girl, and praised his detectives for arresting the girl, although it's not clear how sincere her threats actually were.

"We're not taking any chances," he said. "If people want to criticize us for it, so be it."

The girl faces charges of computer tampering and threatening or intimidating.

JAF, You are a dirty, sick bastard, probably you have to first gawn at all the gunk accumulated, in order to find his clit size pennis, or maybe you already tied it with a piece of thread to find it faster, dirty POS.

Clearly our very own Media Whore of a Shurf has been agonizing over the fact that Sandy Hook CT is the focus of all the news reports and he felt compelled to try to find a way to insert himself into the headline story.  We have troubled young people that have run-ins with law enforcement every day here in Maricopa County.  Arpaio never calls a press conference about it.

EXCEPT, of course, when he can use it as an excuse to try to weave his ugly mug into a headline story.

Sorry, Joe.  You are STILL IRRELEVANT.  Even more so than normal because of this pathetic attempt to portray yourself as relevant.

@bobbjobob Would you say the same thing about Arpaio if he prevented harm to yourself or your family?

@JoeArpaioFan @bobbjobob I'll give your flabbergasted hero some credit. ONLY if he places you under arrest, handed over to the Border Patrol, for illegally residing here in my country without valid documentation.

Of course the 80 year old Joker can't "elaborate" on internet crimes. Because he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about. This is the technology age, and he's from the era of old typewriters and CB radios.

Bullshit.

It was Mesa P.D. jurisdiction.

Just another media event for a wrinkled old man.

@Tommy_Collins And sex crimes that happen in El Mirage is El Mirage PD's jurisdiction.

@JoeArpaioFan again we tell you, MCSO was the police force for El Mirage when this happened. MCSO took the contract to provide the police force for El Mirage when this happened, so this all happened under the MCSO jurisdiction. MCSO WAS El Mirage PD

This kind of cases  are the ones that the old fart likes to solve, since they are already solved, and still he has the nerve to call a press conference, wasting taxpayers money. I  am surprised he didn't get te swat team , the old fucking tank and the washed out POS Seagal. Probably because there was no hispanic involved, what a disgrace and mockery of Law Enforcement.

@comrade And so are the El Mirage sex crimes already solved. Most had no merit.

Idea........Someone?.........pettition the government to give away FREE gun locks to registered owners?

tallnphx

@phxmusicman64 , great idea, already in place. All new guns purchased need to comply with a policy that states that a disabling lock must be included with the purchase. Be on the safe side and get a safe.

@phxmusicman64 people have done that before. good idea, but... many people wont use them. they feel it defeats the purpose of having a gun for self defense if you have to unlock it. (i agree with you though, it is a good idea and a start)

@danzigsdaddy @phxmusicman64 even better would be to REQUIRE that every gun SOLD has one on it. I don't care about the stupid bullshit self defense argument. guns murder too many people each and every year.

@JoeArpaioFan @jonnyquest doing their jobs would be a nice change...all they do is act like arpaios minions, and maybe here and there catch a few criminals when another LEA does everything but arrest the suspect for them...

@JoeArpaioFan there is more than 1 law out there that needs to be enforced. Joe focuses on 1 law as a priority, not all laws. if he did your threats on these posts would land you in jail. that girl made threats that the validity has not been determined yet just the same as you do. if you feel that strongly that he is enforcing the law and protecting us all....then you should be pissed that he has allowed you to slip through the cracks. so your statement of him always doing his job, contradicts itself

Tommy_Collins
Tommy_Collins like.author.displayName like.author.displayName like.author.displayName 3 Like

@jonnyquest Not really. It wasn't their jurisdiction.

Tommy_Collins
Tommy_Collins like.author.displayName 1 Like

@Tommy_Collins @jonnyquest Jonny, if the high school for the intended action was in the City of Mesa, the Mesa Police Department IS the law enforcement agency of primary jurisdiction and MCSO SHOULD have transferred the call to MPD for them to handle. Had this been a sexual assault of a child it's likely MCSO would have washed their hands of it...

@david_saint01  Joe tracked her down? no, Toronto did. they had the IP address and notified Joe, he's just trying to play detective now.  you really need to see the press conference, its hysterical how many times you can catch Joe unaware of all the facts in it. at one point as he is stating how she posted this before the Sandy Hook tragedy, his aide comes up to tell him it was only posted 3 days ago, Joe recovers by instantly coming back with "BUT SHE WAS PLANNING THIS BEFORE THAT" . he says he got the info from Conn. so its an international case, and then corrects himself by saying he made that mistake because he's from that area. after he says he is from that area, he then refers to the Sandy Hook shooting as being in Chicago. he is so out of touch with all the facts during the press conference that it reinforces that he needs to retire. when he intones that Obama was trying to soapbox off of the tragedy it all gets surreal

ptcgaz
ptcgaz like.author.displayName like.author.displayName like.author.displayName like.author.displayName 4 Like

@danzigsdaddy @david_saint01 and if I had the right tools, with that IP address I could track them down too. It's not that amazing really. In fact, Joke got handed an easy case.
