Drug Smugglers Now Shooting Cannons Into United States, Using Cans of Weed as Ammo

The ammo from a weed cannon.
The people who smuggle drugs into the United States from Mexico really have some ingenious ways of getting the goods over the border.

There's the old trick of hiding the drugs in fruit; we've even seen piñatas. We've also seen at least one instance of someone trying to drive over a 14-foot border fence. Now, Border Patrol agents believe that smugglers are using cannons to shoot cans of weed from Mexico into the United States.

According to the Border Patrol, agents responded to a call outside of Yuma, and discovered not only 33 cans of marijuana, but a carbon-dioxide tank as well.

As you can see from the photo above, between the tank, and cans of weed being embedded into a dirt field, it sure seems like there's a pneumatic cannon involved.

Border Patrol's thinking these cans were shot about 500 feet through the air.

The marijuana in the cans totaled about 85 pounds, according to Border Patrol.

Drug smuggling should be an automatic death sentence on the spot.

Yes, they have a contract to fulfill. . . . it can never become legal - the money trail cannot be exposed.

I'll bet Border Patrol can't wait to sell this themselves.

Hey Jaffy,

How come you aren't down there "pertektin the boarder?"

Too busy being Joe's personal bun warmer?

Who would have thought you would learn a marketable skill at Burger King?

Oh how wonderful. I hope Border Patrol mistakes the weed for ammunition and shoots back killing the suspects on sight!

I guess you forgot about the catapult. And the radio controlled aircraft. And the numerous tunnels underneath the border. People will find ingenious ways to move product as long as it remains illegal and extremely profitable to market. Legalize illegal drugs. Tax them. Control them. Watch the crime rate drop. But if that happens, GED Jan's cronies in the gubmint won't have ways to make money off private prisons and get campaign contributions from them. And how about that Sheldon Adelman's contribution to GED Jan's war chest?

@JoeArpaioFan yeah, due process of law is such a time waster.  We can certainly trust old Joe to enforce your suggestion with prudence and care.

@shadeaux14 Why do you believe everything you read here? I don't work at Burger king nor have I ever.

@mikefrombisbee Just remove the plant from Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances list - legalization will only make our response to it more stupid.  Decriminalization is the key.  It's a damn plant - anyone can grow it!!!!  If you "legalize" it there will be all sorts of regulations on the growth of it.  Please, everyone call President Obama and tell him to take pot off Schedule I nOW!!

@drgonzo @JoeArpaioFan er, those south of the border never worry about hitting BP in the head with rocks which can be a life threatening event.  I only ever hear of US people being prosecuted for their violence against Mexicans - never the other way around - although Mexican violence against US people is commonplace.  No JAF fan here (yes he is stupid and boorish and possibly a troll) but the sentiment is understandable and held by many, including US born Mexican descent who are also brown.  So perhaps this is an epic display of YOUR collective brilliance.  This is complex issue.  If you wish to accuse somebody of desiring to murder brown people in another country you've got 4 fingers pointing back at you - your government, of, for, and by the people. Those who hold you and I accountable for our out of control government may be  correct.

@JoeArpaioFan @mikefrombisbee maybe its just me, but id rather not have AZ look like East Berlin. maybe if you quit the anal sex your ass could tighten up enough for you to smuggle them for them..hey, job opportunity for you! beats BK anyways...lol

@JoeArpaioFan @mikefrombisbee Obviously it is more secure than it was but not perfect.  If it wasn't secure, smugglers would simply walk across the border with their drugs.  But the heightened security along the border forces them to go through all this effort to move all of 85 poinds of weed.  So, obviously, the border is becoming more secure.

@JoeArpaioFan @mikefrombisbee Jaffy, you know that drugs also get thrown over the fence at your lover's tent city, right?  Joke can't do anything about it!

@JoeArpaioFan well, Mexico, so brown is a high % guess.  Still, without the gratuitous brown part, you're still advocating murder (self defense based on a falsehood).

@sarum @JoeArpaioFan they weren't shooting weed at BP - that would cut into profits, and risk a JAF deadly response.  We're not talking about self defense - JAF wants BP to make a mistake of fact, launch a disproportionate response, and deal out some death over pot cans.  That part is simple.  Border security and immigration  and drug policy are not simple, but all we're talking about is pole vaulting some weed while BP isn't looking.  There's no reason for an armed assault on people on the other side of the border in response to weed cannonballs.

@david_saint01 The best way to secure the border is to board it up just like a vacant foreclosed house. Nobody should be allowed to enter of leave the US. There is no reason that anybody would ever want to go over to Mexico anyway.

@JoeArpaioFan Itty Bitty question for you...Why have you not signed up to work for Border Patrol if you are so passionate about securing the border?  To scared?  No balls?  Can't qualify?  Don't meet the education requirements?  Physical fitness requirements?  ICE has been hiring like mad for the past 4 years - why haven't you signed up?

@danzigsdaddy @LegitQuestions Remember the dome the EPA put over Springfield in the Simpson's Movie - that's Jan's definition of secured.  Of course, the dome may be placed over Arizona by the rest of the country to keep Jan from getting out and polluting the rest of the country with her dribble, but don't tell her that.

@LegitQuestions i cant remember where it was, but i saw the question posed about Brewer always talking about the border being secured.  they asked "what is your definition of secured? " its a good question i would like to hear an answer for
