John McCain Has Officially Made President Obama Angry Over the Benghazi Ordeal

mccain-tongue-side.jpg
Senator John McCain -- who's been barking about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, for quite some time now -- has officially upset the president over the matter.

McCain has insisted that there's either a coverup or incompetence coming from the Obama administration over its response to the September attack, and today, Obama responded to some of the things said by McCain and his colleague, Senator Lindsey Graham.

Basically, there's a rumor out there that Obama's going to nominate U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice as Secretary of State.

Rice may or may not be the cause of controversy after initially saying the attack on the consulate was "spontaneous," as part of a protest, and sparked by "the video."

Now that everyone seems to be in agreement that it was a terrorist attack -- which McCain was saying from the get-go -- McCain seems to think that Rice was intentionally spreading misinformation.

McCain and Graham have now said that they'd try to block the confirmation of Rice, if the president does indeed nominate her.

Here's how Obama responded to that:

"When they go after the U.N. ambassador because they think she's an easy target, then they've got a problem with me," Obama said. Yikes.

McCain has since responded with the following statement from his office:

"I have always said that the buck stops with the President of the United States, particularly for his contradictory statements in the Rose Garden, on '60 Minutes' and in later venues alleging that the obvious terrorist attack in Benghazi was triggered by a spontaneous demonstration and a hateful video, or that we didn't know the cause. Those statements clearly did not comport with the facts on the ground. We owe the American people and the families of the murdered Americans a full and complete explanation, which for two months the President has failed to deliver. Given all these facts, a Select Committee must be appointed in order to obtain a full and complete accounting which would be credible with the American people."

And while McCain was ranting on the Senate floor, he was missing a private, classified closed door hearing by the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee and the Senate Armed Services Committee in which top level officials from State, Defense and Central Intelligence provided 2 hour classified briefing to the Committees.  Officials were providing to the Senators EXACTLY the type of information that McCain was demanding.  What a cranky, loud-mouthed grand-stander McCain is.

Honestly . . . when National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice gave utterly false testimony to the effect that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and  thousands of souls were lost in the ensuing war, it was John McCain who gushed about her integrity for the position of Secretary of State. His current bluster is hypocritical to the highest degree. Please John, give it a rest,.You lost AGAIN.

I find it odd that Sen. McCain can find the time and energy to trounce upon this political opponent, yet he wasn't worried about the corrupt local sheriff in the very county of his primary Arizona residence, other than some snarky comments he made at one time about how despicable it was for MCSO to mishandle or neglect the 432 documented sex crimes.

Sen. McCain COULD have affected the outcome of the local election by having endorsed Paul Penzone, but that would have meant being a TRUE maverick and really doing what is best for we who have to live, work, and play in Maricopa County.

Instead, he and the lame duck senator spewed mush about Dr. Carmona, giving the election to Jeff Flake. No crossing party lines there, eh?

Instead he picks on someone who MIGHT be nominated.

Seems to me Sen. McCain is still crying over his spilled milk from the 2008 election and his decision to pair himself with that twit from Alaska.

I rather imagine his next move will be to endorse Mrs. Brewer for a cabinet position. Perhaps in the Oval Office. Behind the bar.

It's pretty clear why John McCain & Lindsey Graham will do anything in their power to smear and lie about our US Ambassador to the to U.N. and to block her nomination to serve as Secretary of State.

Oh yes, clear now why McCain goes easy on John Kerry and was in full-out campaign mission & fund-raising mode for Us Sen Scott Brown even going so far as to give Brown military credentials  when he presided over a pinning ceremony at the Capital promoting Brown to colonel in the Army National Guard.

Why will McCain probably promote John Kerry & continue to smear Ms. Rice who has NOTHING to do with Benghazi? The GOP wants Scott Brown to fill Kerry's seat. It's clear.

Maybe McCain can get Charles Keating to fly him to Bengazi In The Lincoln Savings plane, and investigate himself. After all those ovations and interventions for Keating, McSenile is certainly trustworthy.

"Hey you kids, get off my lawn," shouts McCain during press conference.

Talk about destroying your own legacy ... McCain doubled down on being a dumbass -- and it will hurt the real investigation that needs to be done.

Obama was in a damned if they do, damned if they don't scenario.  He asks Rice to share with the US what the intelligence communities are telling the Administration, so (R) won't whine about Obama being secretive, then when that intel needs to be revised, he's damned for not having gotten it right the first time.

McCain, when he's not fighting dementia, knows how this works and he knows you can't expect perfect intel that soon after a major event.

Remember, at the same time as this attack, there were 19 other violent protests that WERE linked to the (R) wingnut hate video.  As such, it is not unreasonable for the Administration to trust it's intelligence agencies when they say "it was the video."

If Obama had stuck with his initial reaction, that it was terrorism, by ignoring the intel communities, then McCrazy would have lambasted him as disrespecting "those in the field who put their lives on the line."

Johnny needs to grow, which for someone his age, is a very sad thing to have to say.

@bronzy57  If John Kerry is nominated for SOS, Massachusetts law requires their governor to appoint an interim senator until an election can be held.

Even then, it's not guaranteed that Scott Brown would actually win. Massachusetts (home to Shurf Joe and BooBoo) is one of the most liberal states in the country.

@watergrendel2011  @truconserv lol yeah, loved how forthcoming they were about Pat Tillmans death.  I ESPECIALLY loved that they forced his wife into the big funeral so they could use it as propaganda..ironically, exactly what Pat thought they would do which was why he requested in his will that there be NO military funeral... For McCain to say something also, is just disgraceful considering he SPOKE at Tillmans funeral. So, by his own logic, he isnt trustworthy nor worthy of holding office.  Same goes with Condi rice when she botched the Iraq and WMD intel publicly...he supported her then, so whats different now?
