"Kairo"
Now, we're not trying to start a duel here, but we tried to get an interview with the Metro Light Rail ninja earlier this week -- and exposed his identity on this blog yesterday morning -- but the man who likes to be called "Kairo" apparently likes TV.

"Kairo" made an appearance on 12 News' 10 p.m. newscast yesterday, and talked about his strategic swordsmanship on the light rail, in which he apparently broke up a fight between other people on the train.

Now, you can hear about his "five-stage plan," including how he was ready to poke just about anyone with that sword, and his intention to just slice some guy in half, thanks to 12 News.

I have a lot of respect for this guy. He was prepared for a violent emergency and may have even prevented bloodshed. Would a gun have been more effective? Probably. But if a sword is what he wants to carry, that's fine, too. Just because it isn't used often anymore doesn't mean it doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Also, "the sword has no place in today's world"?

Piss off,  a sword is a weapon and responsible people who don't want to be victimized by criminals carry weapons. We need more responsible, law-abiding civilians to carry weapons to prevent crime, just like Kairo did. That includes guns, knives, and yes, swords. It is an established fact that criminals are much more afraid of responsible citizens who are armed than police, and over 90% of the time will run when faced with an armed "victim".

Props to Kairo. If it wasn't for him, somebody might have died on that bus that day.

Had to deal with these damn nerds when I was in a Japanimation club in high school. Yes, I was in the club but strictly because I watch anime/read manga as a hobby. They're overly confident and simply need an ass kicking to realize they need to settle down.

What a douche.  Kairo, you have seen too many movies, sooner or later you are going to pull that sword out on someone packing an automatic.

i dont think this fuckin truck realizes what state he is in. i have a strong doubt he will be able to sustain an ability to eat and breathe on his own for much longer. i think he should leave the sword play to anime characters and stay home during the dark hours.

I think I saw this guy at a bar on University in Tempe about a year ago. This guy's "five-stage plan" sounds about as thought out as the one Mittens has been crowing about during the debates. Regardless, I couldn't hate this guy anymore than I do after watching that interview. Settle down, sport.
