Joe Arpaio Doesn't Want His Super Official "Birther" Probe Used in Presidential Debate

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's "birther" probe is such an important issue for the nation that he would not like to see the two men running for President of the United States talk about it in front of the country.

We're not sure why this thought ever popped into the head of U.S.News & World Report reporter Steven Nelson, but we're glad it did.

Here's what Nelson got:

"Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he does not feel it is appropriate to advise Mr. Romney on what questions to pose to the president during this important debate," said spokesman Lisa Allen. Asked if Arpaio would like moderators to inquire about the birth certificate, Allen merely responded, "No."

We sent an e-mail to Allen, Arpaio's chief flack, asking for the reasoning behind this, and we can only presume that e-mail will be tossed straight in the e-garbage within seconds of it being opened.

Arpaio has said multiple times that he believes there is "probable cause" that President Obama's birth certificate is a forgery. However, despite the fact that the "investigation" has been going on for more than a year, there has not been a single piece of evidence presented that contributes to that theory, and it's apparent that Arpaio's investigators knowingly presented false information.

The investigation has gotten so serious that Arpaio's "birther" chief Michael Zullo said he was recently questioned by a police officer about his pursuit of a 95-year-old woman in a Honolulu nursing home.

Still, it seems to have no place in a debate over who should become the next president.

what would be funny is if Obama brings it up, forcing Romney to have to publicly debunk  Arpaio, Corsi and Zullo. dont forget Romney doesnt believe the birther movement, he has gone on record multiple times saying he believes Obama was born in the U.S.

The Flaccid Fraud's birther 'investigation' is about as real as a 3-dollar bill. All it will do is distract President Obama from kicking Romney's ass across the floor and back.

Obama has the upper hand on Romney in MA by 30 points and in NH by 15 points.

wow Joe, if you have the goods/proof why not bring it up then in front of God and the entire country on national and realistically worldwide TV.

This feels to me like the guy who is always claiming to have the biggest dick. He's always saying it, always claiming it, but will never drop his pants to verify it.

Then when someone shorts him, it turns out it was so much nothing you need a magnifying glass and tweezers to find it.

Exactly like our flaccid sheriff and his equally flaccid birther vacation... err... probe.

Can't wait to see what JAF's and YPS's spin on this will be - it should be entertaining at least :)

How about every time one of them lies, we take a shot? We'll be drunk before we finish reading their first sentence :)
