Border Patrol Agent Killed, Another Wounded in Shooting Near Bisbee
The agents were stationed at the Border Patrol station in Naco, which is named after slain Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
A Border Patrol spokesman says the shooting occurred at 1:50 a.m. today.
Details of the shooting are light at this point, but the agents were reportedly responding to a sensor alarm that had gone off near the border.
There weren't any suspects when initial reports came out, and the identities of the agents haven't been released. Border Patrol says the name of the slain agent will be released once his next-of-kin is notified.
The agent wounded in the shooting was hospitalized after being shot in the ankle and buttocks.
Agent Brian Terry -- whose 2010 death has been linked to the "Fast and Furious" operation -- was actually killed near Nogales, although the Naco station bears his name.
Border Patrol says the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cochise County Sheriff's Office are leading the investigation.
