Should Jan Brewer Bail on Her Speaking Engagement at the Values Voter Summit?

The Southern Poverty Law Center asked Governor Jan Brewer and others to skip out on an event hosted by the Family Research Council because of the group's persistent "demonization" of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

As you can imagine, Brewer wasn't convinced.

The Southern Poverty Law Center explained that it's not upset with the Family Research Council and associated groups' political views on gay rights, but instead the "repeated, groundless demonization - portraying LGBT people as sick, vile, incestuous, violent, perverted, and a danger to the nation."

We provided a couple of those examples -- like the gay Hitler theory -- yesterday.

Also speaking at the event will be Arizona Policy president Cathi Herrod, who's known for bringing her own version of morality policing to Arizona.

That said, should Brewer find something else to fit in her schedule?

Doesn't really matter where she speaks, the problem is that WHEN she speaks, she usually brings further embarrassment to us, our state, and herself, although I think her personal embarrassment usually gets lost somewhere in her glass of gin.

who cares where she speaks. every time she opens her mouth she makes a jackass of herself. if she isnt drunk and slurring her words, shes at the republican convention stating that "when obama gets elected.......and i hope he does" (her words, not mine). this is one of the main reasons this state is a laughing stock to the whole nation. what kind of retarded person goes to give a interview thats a couple minutes long and starts by inserting the name of the person she is against in place of the person she is supporting AND DOESNT CORRECT HERSELF THE WHOLE INTERVIEW? Well, she is only confirming what we already knew about her, which is that she's a bigoted fool. You have to be crazy to speak at an FRC event. I mean, it's a whole convention of crazy, particularly with the anti-gay sentiment coming out of the mouths of the people who run that outfit. Who wants to be aligned with THAT?
