A man and his dog are accused of biting Mesa police officers inside a Target store yesterday, in an incident that ended with the man getting tased multiple times, and the dog getting shot by police inside the store.

Samkeith Jurden drew attention to himself in the Target store several ways: first, he was wearing nothing but a swimsuit and black socks while he sat in the middle of an aisle. Second, he brought his pit bull with him, without a leash. Third, when Target management tried to get him to leave, Jurden was busy on his cellphone, attempting to get his grandmother to pray with him.

Police then showed up to handle that, and according to court documents obtained by New Times, Jurden immediately started fighting with officers once they told Jurden he was under arrest.

Jurden then bit a cop on the arm and started running away, but officers caught up and got in another scuffle with him, according to the documents. During this, he kicked one officer in the chest with both feet, the documents say.

Meanwhile, Jurden's dog was still running around, and also bit an officer who was in the scuffle with Jurden.

The dog was shot inside the store and later died, and Jurden got a few rounds of Taser blasts before being arrested.

A witness also told police that Jurden had his dog earlier at an apartment complex adjacent to the store, where the dog attempted to bite another person.

After all that, Jurden was booked into jail on two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, and one count each of resisting arrest, assault by a "vicious animal," disorderly conduct, and criminal trespassing.

His bond was set at $5,600.

Nice kill and takedown. I personally would have zapped the perp a few more times to ensure compliance.

It was a rightous takedown. The number of zaps a perp gets is really more a matter of officer personal style. It's sort of a signature move.

think he/she said:"It's really sad when people judge other people. This is only one child who sweeps his own front door year-round, but this is better than sweeping another person because we all have only one problem."

@lovelyladie25 No, seriously, I would have given him probably three more jolts of lightening juice so he'd remember next time. But, that's just my technique. That's just how I roll. My wife on the other hand, swears she would just give him one continious shot of juice until he peed himself. Honestly, my critic of the officers was simply meant as a slight critique of their individual buzzing and blasting style. I would never critique their judgement from the safety of my home.
