Arizona Republic Website Paywall Is Really Easy to Avoid

Step around azcentral.com's iron curtain.
In case you just went over your article limit on the Arizona Republic's website, azcentral.com, and you just have to read all five sentences about some guy who got kind of scared because he's not very good at landing airplanes, we have the solution.

Just as a couple of our sister papers have discovered as their local dailies started asking for credit cards, avoiding the paywall takes no more than 10 seconds.

Perhaps the simplest way would be the "private browsing" feature in your browser, a.k.a. "porn mode," which has different names depending on which browser you're using. Thanks to the bean-counter that shows up on every article on the Republic's website now, we know it gives you a fresh start on your monthly quota every time you close the private browsing window and open it again.

If that's just too difficult, then there's a way to be able to read more free articles per month, in increments of 20 -- just open a different browser. If you exhaust your quota viewing articles in Firefox, then open up (yikes) Internet Explorer or a different browser, and you start all over again.

The borderline nerdy types would know that this is due to "cookies," so you can go directly after those if you so please.

Or, if you're really serious about it, you can use the old false IP address through any number of websites (although they're typically blocked at places like public schools and libraries).

Still, for the best way to avoid the azcentral.com paywall, we recommend you continue reading New Times -- for free.

The only article I care to read from that site is that Montini and Valdez have been shit canned. I will pay for that article. Until then, I complain to every sponser they have.

I'm just irked I can't use my old account there now.  I have a lot of history there and my blog, as well.

I wrote to them and they said there is no way to link the accounts (we were already getting a print edition so I get full access, anyway).  I'm bummed.

Honestly I don't care about AZC and their pay shit.

I could get around it easily but why? AZC has degraded to nothing but duplicate troll accounts that endlessly spam the comments without actually saying anything.

@Flyer9753 lol I have lost many accounts over the years, but my AZC one has been up for around 5 years. And yes, I am a troll that goes against the majority of the morons in the valley.

@Flyer9753 I'm proud (that's probably a little strong of a word for my intent, actually...lol) to say that up until the day they changed to the current digital content distribution, I only ever had the one account since about 2008 or 2009,

It's the same name I use here and most news places, actually.

 @ptcgaz

I know your comments there and while you got called a troll, you were not what I would call a  troll.

You had a position and you defended what you believed in. Where you an ass at times doing so, sure, we all are at times, myself included, especially since at times you _had_ to fight fire with fire over there

The ones I call trolls over there are the ones that would answer a question/comment one way one post, then another way the next time just to have an argument and then you see 5 other posts from people who have their account info hidden and you have never seen before, because the guy you were talking with registered 5 more accounts just to have more opportunities to berate you and supposedly 'win' because more people were posting against you and etc... and with nonsensible putting words in your mouth arguments.. spamming the comments so that in 10 minutes you have 5 new pages all from the same 5 (1) poster...

@TaxpayingVoter Same here. I've had that account for a long time and it's the only name I use whenever able around the net in general
