Brian Bizzell, Ex-Teacher Caught Arranging "Quickie" With Student, Gets Jail Time
Because the 17-year-old student lost her cell phone, another student -- and, eventually, the cops -- discovered the two were having sex, including a "quickie" he was trying to schedule, according to court documents previously obtained by New Times.
The classmate who found the phone purportedly was trying to find out who the owner was by checking out the text messages, and noticed that the background picture on the phone was of Bizzell, and there were some sexual messages between the girl and a guy listed as "Brian."
After the phone was handed over to police, and the girl's father handed over his daughter's laptop, police found more sexual talk between the two.
The 17-year-old girl was interviewed by police, who said she met Bizzell when she was 13 and became one of his students when she was 14.
The first physical contact between the two didn't occur until she was 17, she said, when they kissed at a band event in Avondale.
The girl said the relationship escalated, and sexual contact between the two started occurring in the band room at the high school.
Bizzell admitted to having sex with the girl, and although he initially faced six charges, that was eventually reduced to one count of sexual conduct with a minor -- but he ended up pleading guilty to a lesser charge, according to court records.
Aside from Bizzell's year in jail, he was sentenced to a lifetime of probation with sex-offender terms.
Also recently sentenced out of the pervert files was Billy Bryant -- also known as "Mr. Bill," when he was a charter school bus driver -- who was sentenced this morning to 10 years in prison for molesting a 9-year-old girl he'd lured to his car.
He'll also be on sex-offender probation for life.
