Christopher Shahin Gets Probation, Deferred Jail Time for Picking Up His "Baby Mama" -- Also Known as a 14-Year-Old

When a pair of women found Christopher Shahin in the backseat of his car with a girl last year, Shahin let the women know that the girl was his "baby mama" and that "she fine."

The girl was not Shahin's "baby mama," nor was "fine" -- she was a 14-year-old girl Shahin plucked from the grocery store.

Thanks to a plea deal, Shahin -- who was 24 years old at the time of his arrest -- was sentenced on Friday to probation, and also received a deferred jail sentence after pleading guilty to lesser charges.

According to court documents previously obtained by New Times, two women noticed a white Infiniti sedan parked in a cul-de-sac in Goodyear on May 23, 2011, and the women noticed what appeared to be a struggle between two people in the back seat.

The 14-year-old girl in the backseat was crying, but Shahin told the women it was just his "baby mama," and "she fine."

Less than 10 minutes later, Goodyear police received a call from a man reporting an incident between an adult and his 14-year-old daughter.

The girl's father told the cops that his daughter had been kidnapped from a Fry's grocery store that day, some sort of molestation had occurred, and the man then dropped her off at a school, according to the documents.

The women had taken down the license plate to Shahin's Infiniti -- and reported it to police -- which led the cops to Shahin's place in Tempe.

When police showed up Shahin was backing out of the driveway in his car, and he sped away when an officer approached him -- grazing the officer in his escape, according to the documents.

The next morning, police were talking to a man who said he'd picked up Shahin around 1:30 a.m. that day.

The man said Shahin was crying when he picked him up, saying something about running from a man wearing a vest and holding a gun, as well as being chased by two women after having sex with someone in the west Valley.

Shahin was eventually found and arrested, and the 14-year-old girl picked Shahin out of a photo lineup.

While Shahin initially faced several serious charges -- including child molestation, sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault on a police officer, and sexual conduct with a minor -- he pleaded guilty to unlawful imprisonment and endangerment.

Shahin's plea deal scored him three years of probation, as well as a deferred jail sentence of six months.

Seems like a pretty light sentence, the least the judge could have done is get the scumbag a free vasectomy so he doesn't knock up his victims.

@amynmesa I should have clarified my statement. I was refering to the sexual abuse cases in El Mirage that were swept under the rug....You raise excellent points,Arizona(and the US as a whole) is rapidly becoming a place where justice is reserved for only the wealthy, powerful and well connected. Arizona's own,Mr. Bennet's sexual predator son is a perfect example of this. We as citizens must demand transparency, from all levels and branches of goverment.....I am in agreement with you .

Kidnapping and sexual molestation is a probationary offense now?    Give me a break.      People do much less than this and get big time jail sentences.

I really wish I was a sexual predator in AZ. I mean I could have free reign to molest and kidnap 14 year old girls and if I went to El Mirage I could get away with far more so long as Joke is in office.

Oh wait? I am a decent human and revolted by this story.

@Bnbk "Another fine job of letting sexual predators free to roam the streets and terrorize our children."

Are you serious?? Arizona is legendary when it comes to over kill on how they put people away for life if their charges are in any way sexual in nature. This would be the first example I personally have ever seen of someone getting a free pass on these types charges. I , like you, am completely appalled though. It would be very interesting to follow the money trail in this case, with out a doubt it leads to the door step of someone very powerful. There are COUNTLESS i mean COUNTLESS people on the sex offender registry in this state for indecent exposure (caught peeing in public) and many other stupid NON DANGEROUS crimes, their lives are completely destroyed. They might as well put a bullet in their brain now, thats how bad the registry is. Perfect example, Morton Berger. A case that is legendary simply because of the punishment. A few pictures downloaded off the internet of child pornography, ones which he had no actual part in creating, they gave him 200 YEARS!!! 200 YEARS!!!!!!!! he had no priors, none. Or what about Courtney Bisbee. She is actually innocent, the people who testifies at her trial and put her away have long since come forward and admitted the whole thing was a lie. She was about the age of the guy in this story and her accuser was 15 yrs old. So a year older than the victim in this story. She got 14 YEARS...Its common knowledge that Courtney Bisbee is INNOCENT!! in prison she sits.

Than we have this guy, who is exactky the type of person the registry was created for , and because he knows the right people ...he is able to spend yet another day , free to kidnap and rape children. Also, interesting to know, he has 3 prior convictions for possession of drugs in a 2 year period. None of which this guy did any jail time.

I AM WITH BNBK..I WANT TO KNOW WHO IN THE HELL THE PROSECUTOR/JUDGE IN THIS GUYS CASE ARE??? Normally I would look on line at his minute entries, oddly enough they arent available in his case...hmmmm...I say we start naming the judges / prosecutors who we know first hand are corrupt. I see so many cases where people get raped in the a$$ by our judicial system for much less than what this guy long as its done "in the name of protecting  the children" they get away with it..obviously childrens best interest are not what mattered at any point in time.

What are the names of the judge and prosecutor in this case ? Another fine job of letting sexual predators free to roam the streets and terrorize our children. Montgomery and his office should really be proud of this one.

WTF??? What kind of deal is that? Why the hell would he get deferred sentencing. Because he made a mistake, good god he's a predator. What the hell is wrong with the prosecutor and judge here???????
