Mary Rose Wilcox Granted $975,000 Judgment by Federal Judge; Sidesteps County Efforts to Check Payment

U.S. District Court Judge Neil Wake's final order in the proposed settlement by Maricopa County to Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox: Pay the woman.

In an order on Friday, Wake granted Wilcox's motion to enforce the settlement order, stating that Wilcox "shall have judgment" in the amount agreed, plus an additional $28,000 for legal fees.

As we explained in our May 25 post, County Treasurer "Hos" Hoskins and County Attorney Bill Montgomery still will fight to apply a law that seemed to state how county supervisors need the authority of one other supervisor and the treasurer to be paid on a claim.

The county switched out its attorneys in the case after Cave Creek Councilman Steven LaMar did not press the case for the application of that law during a hearing before Wake last month.

Wilcox, who's running for re-election this year, sued the county after the failed prosecution against her by the now-disbarred former County Attorney Andrew Thomas, which was based on a crappy investigation by Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office.

it is hard to believe that 70%. of, Arizona, supports, Joe on taking his resources and diverting his resources for working!! immigrants .  Key point.  400 criminals went free!! on Joe's watch. :(

If you are a, rapists, child molesters and you commit the crime in, Joe Arpaio district you are safe.

He only goes after criminals, that is working! immigrants

For what it's worth Joe Arpaio.  DID APOLOGIZE  to the victims :(  Joe you are a piece of shit!!

There is something really wrong with , Sheriff Joe Arpaio,  When he goes after working!! immigrants instead of going after child molesters and rapist about 400 of them any way :(

Good Job sheriff Joe

I wonder if all of this is part of Sheriff Joke's retirement plan. Tell people he'll give them easy lawsuits to win if they give him a percentage. That wackweed has to pay ZERO out of his pocket, still keeps his high paying job, and has a sweet retirement to look forward to. And if he ever does retire, he'll probably get hired back as a civilian at 3/4 pay plus the retirement, like sperm whale Jobba the Hendersplott. Of course, this jackwagon will never retire, never quit, the old geezers will keep voting him in, and the Feds will keep delaying his prosecution until he dies, when he will be lauded as the greatest scam artist of all time.

Good for you. But it seems that the crimes were personal in nature and outside Arapio and his monkey's scope of job duties so they should pay Wilcox why should the folks of maricopa continue to be victimized by the same loosers.

How much money has the MCSO shurf, Henderbulk, and Candy Andy and the Miscreants cost county taxpayers for criminal abuse of power?

I read on azcentral.com that trial dates have been set for May 2013 for every other case stemming from this naked abuse of power. Stapley's trial is the last and must end by December next year.

Hopefully the MCSO shurf, Henderbulk, and Candy Andy and the Miscreants are indicted by the feds for criminal abuse of power before then. That would be really sweet.

Mary Rose Wilcox is more "American" than you think and should be considered "Mexican" only because her family has been based in the (now) Arizona area for over 4 generations (WAY before Arizona became a State and was still part of Mexico).  In other words, she and hers were here first.

Just add it to Arpaio's tab, along with the cost of the upcoming federal suit, along with the possible upcoming class-action suit.

What the hell, it's only coming out of the taxpayer's pockets ? Just business as usual at the MCSO.

And before anybody bitches about Wilcox getting this payout, how many of you would turn down the money if you were the one who had the "Two Stooges" pull their crap on you?

This website offers nothing in the way of Mr. Burboa's stance on any of the important issues facing Maricopa County. All your website offers up is a weak attempt to expain to the voters what our problems are......News Flash---We are already aware of the problems, what are you offering up as solutions ?  For instance, what is your position on Arpaio's wasting all of our taxpayer's money on never ending litigation and on and on and on...........Sigma Six Methodology ? Is that what your offering up ? What a JoKKKe !

True. But not the low blows (like yourself) in the corrupt MCSO. Then again, didn't your crime boss used the jail enhancement funds for his own personal piggy bank to fund his dog-n-pony shows, instead paying you and other lower rank--overtime?
You probably didn't get paid for the extra hours you spent sitting at the desk surfing through porn sites.

Easy there Rachel.

As I already stated, Thomas & Co. violated ARS 38-502 by even initiating the investigation into Wilcox.

Yavapai CA Sheila Polk refused to prosecute Wilcox, as did Gila CA Daisy Flores and then U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke. Seems to me that if 3 experienced prosecutors refused to press charges, there is either no probable cause to believe a crime was committed or the person being targeted really didn't do anything. Now, thanks to your former boss and the MCSO shurf, she's a million bucks wealthier and her lawyer gets a fat check to pay for the new Mercedes-Benz S550 4Matic he'll buy next year.

I don't like Arpiehole but I like Wilcox even less. She gives lead ass  a new meaning hehe.
The lesson is: the squeaky meskin gets the grease...

Arpaio will skate to en easy re-election, further proving that Maricopa is populated by idiots who don't give a damn about fiscal conservativism.

Wilcox's political career is over, as it should be.  What Thomas and Arpaio did was wrong, absolutely, but we don't elect leaders to take our money.  Wilcox is now a rich woman thanks to the taxpayers.  It won't be added to Arpaio's tab, as much as you or I might like it to be.

You conveniently left out that Daisy Flores said there was sufficient evidence to convict Wilcox but the case was so bungled it was not prosecutable.

Hence the comment, "Crime does pay."

The whole thing sucks and the only one's getting the shaft is the tax payers.
