Joe Arpaio's "Birther" Madness Continues to Get Worse -- Sheriff May Testify in Florida

arpaio-speedo.png
Joe Arpaio, Florida edition.
As has happened numerous times before, we wrote about another ridiculous aspect of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's "birther" investigation earlier in the day, and it's gotten more ridiculous just hours later.

We told you just before noon about Arpaio submitting an affidavit to a Florida court to support an attorney's challenge to President Barack Obama's eligibility, as self-proclaimed "activist attorney" Larry Klayman explained he's trying to stop the president from helping Muslims take over the world.

Now Arpaio thinks he might have to take a trip over to the Florida Panhandle to testify.

"I have been subpoenaed by a Florida attorney in reference to my Obama birth certificate investigation," the typewriter-ridden Arpaio's ghost "tweeters" write. "May have to go there to testify."

Arpaio, conspiracy theorist/alleged "special deputy" Jerome Corsi, and MCSO Cold Case Posse "investigator" Michael Zullo have all submitted affidavits in a Leon County, Florida court, in an effort to get a hearing to argue whether Obama is a natural-born citizen, with the ultimate goal of getting him off Florida's ballots.

Arpaio's affidavit talks about his so-called investigation into "Barrack Obama," although it's not as if his allegations of the president forging documents had any credibility to lose.

His affidavit also officially changes his story about the "brither" garbage being at "no cost to taxpayers." This affidavit says it's being done "at virtually no cost to the tax payer."

That "no cost" thing kind of went out the window when Arpaio sent a deputy to Hawaii for "birther" purposes, saying the Cold Case Posse -- which has begged for donations on multiple occasions -- will probably pay back the cost at some point.

Arpaio will also be taking his staff to go go-kart racing in the middle of the day tomorrow for his birthday, which has also been billed as having no cost to John Q. Taxpayer.

In the meantime, there's been no indication that the actual law enforcement -- it's sometimes easy to forget MCSO does that -- is making changes to what the Justice Department calls the worst racial-profiling practices in American history.

I am sure it will gratify your readers to know that the Florida was thrown out, very decisively, on June 29th.  Among other things, the court held: (1) Someone born in the US is a natural born citizen -- regardless of the citizenship (or lack thereof) of either or both parents;  and (2)  The Florida Secretary of State is not only not required - he is not authorized - to question the eligibility of a nominee for President from a known political party.

No wonder Crazy Joe cannot find Obama's birth certificate .... he doesn't know how to spell the President's name.

So, Sharia law?  Just with Christians instead of Muslims?  And you have to be the "right" kind of American.  Just make sure you agree 100% with Nut Schmidt, and you'll stay American and out of his arbitrary prison camps.  (Or is it death camps?)  What's the matter, Nate - been doing some Taliban-dreamin'? And just how do you plan on regulating people's thoughts?  Speaking of thoughts, I don't think you've thought this all the way through.

No, sir, your remark re HI law and Obama is wrong and you know it. If you don't, your reading comprehension is severely lacking. I'm not trying to deny anyone the opportunity to seek redress. In fact hundreds of lawsuits and thousands of letters seeking redress have been issued considered and denied. You fail to grasp that seeking redress does not mean you stamp your litte feet and get what you want, especially when you are dead wrong on all counts. Yeah, Simon was an explorer. That's the only thing you've been correct on.

No need....  You argue Arpaio does not have legal standing to meddle in state or federal affairs..  therefore he should cease and desist his current investigation?   Again your argument is for denial of redress of grievances by a large number of voters..  much too large to ignore.   Again I say to you...  all that is needed is disclosure of official records...  not copies not questionable PDF's and selective service cards...  but actual physical records with a clear chain of custody and in agreement with discovery rules.   This issue can be settled TODAY you know...   simper fi.

Hey, Birther Nate: Your buddies over at wnd have declared that everything Hawai'i certifies is a fake.  So how would you trust the microfilm (that you do not even know exists)? Birther scorecard:  Birthers-0  US Constitution-134 Yes, that's 134 cases IN A ROW that the BIRTHERS HAVE LOST!  ALL OF THEM!  EVERY TIME! Read it and weep sweet birther tears. http://tesibria.typepad.com/whats_your_evidence/BIRTHER%2520CASE%2520LIST.pdf While you're at it, debunk every one of these documents so we can again assess your lack of credibility: http://www.scribd.com/doc/96756764/Barack-Obama-Was-Born-in-Hawaii

Obama can sign a release anytime he wants to.  FACT.  I agree  further discourse is a waste of time...  You want to deny the right of redress to a lot of voters...  I want full disclosure of only those files Obama had sealed shortly prior to his plans to run. Hey Frank...  Simon Bolivar was an explorer was he not?  Keep the spirit alive why don't you...  what you do here is not neutral.

Re: Nate's: "I recall a case involving Senator McCain.. inwhich the senate defined a  natural born as being a sibling of two us citizens.  But I am sure you have an argument there also." Just the facts - no argument. Here's the resolution: http://www.opencongress.org/bill/110-sr511/text Nowhere does the Senate -- in this NONbinding resolution - "define" natural born citizen.  In fact, the NONbinding resolution recognizes that the Constitution does not define it.  The resolution thereafter states its opinion that "Whereas there is no evidence of the intention of the Framers or any Congress to limit the constitutional rights of children born to Americans serving in the military nor to prevent those children from serving as their country's President" and "Whereas such limitations would be inconsistent with the purpose and intent of the `natural born Citizen' clause of the Constitution of the United States, as evidenced by the First Congress's own statute defining the term `natural born Citizen';" and "Whereas the well-being of all citizens of the United States is preserved and enhanced by the men and women who are assigned to serve our country outside of our national borders;" and "Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside of the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President" The resolution thereafter sets forth the fact that "Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936: Now, therefore, be it" Therefore, the Senate resolved that McCain was a "natural born citizen." Obviously - as clearly stated in the NONbinding Resolution -- the issue was whether a person born OUTSIDE the United States could be an "NBC."   Resolution 511 had nothing whatsoever to do with the issue of the status of a person born in the United States.

The two-parent theory is nowhere stated in the Constitution - and not even Dr. Taitz nor Klayman nor any other attorney espousing that view says it is.  They all use external sources to make arguments about what the actual words used (which do not include the "two parent" requirement) mean.  Their briefs are pretty much all available here - people can check it out for themselves.  http://www.scribd.com/Jack%20Ryan  (Oh -- and no one's trying to convince you of anything, I don't think.  Just trying to provide facts and law -- with links so that OTHERS, who might actually want "The Truth" can discover it for themselves.  Instead of repeatedly making bald claims with no links to any sources that back up those claims.) And - birthers will never be satisfied with "what is what."  Every time an agency provides information refuting their claims, the birthers claim that the agency is in on the "conspiracy."  Every time a judge rejects their claims, the birthers claim that the judge is corrupt - or has been blackmailed or intimidated. Those actually searching for "the truth" have found it -- the most recent verification put to rest ANY and ALL **reasonable doubt** as to the veracity of the LFBC and the place of Obama's birth.  http://www.scribd.com/doc/96221267/HI-DOH-Official-Verification-of-President-Obama-s-Hawaiian-Birth-w-Note Those actually searching for "the truth" about Constitutional interpretation -- have found it in the dozens and dozens of state and federal cases -- over the past 150+ years -- clearly and consistently recognizing that a person born in the USA is a natural born citizen, without regard to his/her heritage.  The "law" is clear.  (Whether the law should be **changed** is another subject of debate altogether.) Most (but not all) such cases are summarized in the Congressional Research Services November 2011 report @ http://www.scribd.com/doc/74176180/Qualifications-for-President-and-the-%E2%80%9CNatural-Born%E2%80%9D-Citizenship-Eligibility-Requirement

"To date they have not been able to prove their case"?  Where did they even try to prove their "case."???  They only JUST filed suit -- after extensive attempts to work with Arpiao, no?

I believe that he would surprise you if he were to testify in this matter.  My guess:  He will remember just about everything since there is virtually not jeopardy for him in the case.

I encourage Joe to go to Florida and not come back
