Phoenix Suns Are A Pretty Good Little Team Right Now, Beat Jazz

Categories: Sports
Don't want to jinx it, but the Phoenix Suns have turned themselves into a pretty good little team. Last night's thrilling 107-105 win over the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City proved that this squad is hellbent on making the NBA playoffs, a thought seemingly absurd not so long ago.

Big win last night over rival Utah!

Steve Nash reached back a few years into his bag of tricks, hitting two tough clutch shots in the last 14 seconds, the final one a sweet game-winning floater from about 15-feet with 1.7 seconds left to give Phoenix the win.

Everybody held their collective breath when Utah's Paul Millsap's potential game-tying tip-in at the buzzer was disallowed after the officials took a long look at the video.

It was the Suns' second road win in as many nights (first one was against Sacramento), and thrust the locals past the Jazz into eighth place in the very tight playoff race.

Kudos also to Channing Frye, who banked in a three-point bomb with a minute to play, giving Phoenix a five-point lead. As good of a long-range shooter as Frye is, we wouldn't want to bet that he'd make that shot more than, say, one or two in ten tries.

But that's what happens when teams get hot.

We're not saying that Phoenix would have a chance to win a series against any of the top teams in the West--Oklahoma City, San Antonio, or the two Los Angeles teams.

But they play very hard and with great enthusiasm, and for that we thank them.

Next up: A game on Friday night against Denver, also on the road.
