Child-Porn Collector Who Worked at Joe Arpaio's Neighborhood CVS Pleads Guilty

Michael Brown
Michael Brown, a former CVS pharmacy employee who was busted on child-porn charges in June 2010, pleaded guilty today to five related charges.

Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brown after they received a tip that he had left several pornographic images of children in one of the store's photo kiosks.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio was upset at the time, since he said he was a frequent shopper at that very CVS location.

Brown, 51, was arrested on June 29, 2010, after sheriff's deputies conducted a search of his home near 17th Street and Union Hills Drive in Phoenix, where police found thousands of images of "child erotica," according to court documents.

That warrant was served after the CVS manager phoned up the sheriff's office about what he found in the photo kiosk.

Court documents suggested that Brown had uploaded the photos to the kiosk early in the morning, and that night, the manager noticed there were two orders in the kiosk's queue that had not been printed.

The store manager then printed out the "orders," which ended up being "child erotica."

Police say the photos show a girl -- later determined by pediatricians to be less than 13-years-old -- naked and "posing seductively for the camera" in three of the 13 photos at the store.

According to the court documents, Brown admitted to downloading pornographic images of girls as young as 10 years old and would bring the images to the CVS to print out on a regular basis.

Brown was a shift supervisor at the CVS at 16545 East Palisades Drive in Fountain Hills -- the same store where the porn was found, and where Arpaio was apparently a frequent customer.

Of course, he used that as a way to toss himself into the story.

"This is such a sad situation," Arpaio said in a statement at the time. "Living in Fountain Hills, I frequently shop at this very store, and I will never tolerate this type of behavior."

Brown pleaded guilty today to five charges related to attempting to commit sexual exploitation of minor.

His sentencing is scheduled for May 8.
