Rick Santorum Schmoozing Joe Arpaio Today -- A Tactic Which Hasn't Exactly Been Successful

• What is wrong in being an insider? Insiders know better how the three coequal branches of our government works. Romney is applying to the top government job in which Santorum is better experience and equipped to handle. Unlike Romney, Santorum has a national security and foreign affairs experience. Please read online about the Iran Freedom & Support Act & the Syrian Accountability Act which he authored in 2004. In this volatile world, we cannot afford to have a novice in international affairs (Romney) to be the leader of the free world. The MSM, pundits, the Establishment say to the American people that Romney "can turn the economy around." Nothing is further from the truth. A president cannot and will not create jobs or/grow the economy. A president cannot micromanage a private sector from the oval office. A president can create a healthy environment through a legislative process by the US Congress for a private sector to grow our economy and jobs. Romney is not a lawyer unlike Santorum. As a lawyer(Jurist Doctor) and successful legislature, Santorum knows how to deal with US Congress to create a healthy environment for a private sector. Romney is not an economist. He has MBA like Santorum. The base of the republican party doesn't want Romney because of Romney-care, his flip-flops on gay marriage, abortion, net tax increases & appointing liberal judges as Governor of Massachusetts, his negative attacks to tear down his fellow republican candidates by distorting their records. He received earmarks for Utah Olympics and projects in Massachusetts but accuse Santorum for earmarks. He was and is for No child Left behind Program but again accuses Santorum who already regretted for his previous vote. Santorum has a principle. He was candid in the last debate in regretting about his vote for NCLP.  I do not know if Romney any core value. Santorum left the Senate at the end of 2006.He ha been in a private tech company since then. Increasing a debt ceiling prior to the last summer was simply a routine thing to do and did not reach a crisis stage like now. Had Romney been successful in in his quest for the Senate seat in 1994, he would have voted the same. Knowing the the current sensitivity of Americans about debt ceiling & the deficit, he attacks Santorum to juts get our votes. Romney thinks that we may not have long memory to see things in its context. Can we trust this pretender-in-chief with anything?

• Thank you. I have some additional comments for you and others who may read this website. Many people don't know what an earmark is and the amount of money spent under earmarks. Earmark is less than 1% of the US budget. It is legal. The money could be either left to Washington bureaucrats to spend as they wish or given to members of the US Congress to spend on various projects in their states. Both ways $0.00 is saved. We have heard so many abuses of our tax payers money misused by the government. There is no perfection in what a person or a government does. Santorum took a principled stand against it after he observed its abuse. He was the member of the Gang of 7 who exposed the scandals in Congress. It is good to see at what the candidates has done and intend to do during their life time and then make comparisons objectively. Santorum is forthright in saying politics is a team sport. When a Senator wants to pass a bill (let us not forget we have two major parties with opposing views), some of them add a bill that may not pass on its own to take advantage of a bill that has majority votes. If a Senator may not compromise, nothing could be accomplished (gridlock). Without knowing how the US Congress get anything done, simply judging Santorum on his votes show lack of knowledge on those who simply want to oppose him. Requesting and receiving earmarks for not only Utah Olympics but Massachusetts in he amount of about $500 Million and then accusing Santorum as though he had done something illegal is hypocritical on the part of Romney. Consistency does not mean you may not make some some compromises after weighing its pros and cons. It may not be easy for some to easily understand how the US Congress gets anything done. I hope Santorum will aggressively defend and make clear about some of the issues that were raised last night. If you objectively compare Santorum's record to any other candidates, Santorum will be far better than all of hem and specially Romney - who some already start calling a pretender-in-chief. Incredibly, the New York Times said it best last night: "But Mr. Santorum, unlike other Republican opponents whom Mr. Romney has targeted during this unwieldy primary battle, did not recoil. He returned the attacks as forcefully as they were delivered, arguing that the health care plan Mr. Romney signed as governor of Massachusetts would complicate the party's effort to criticize President Obama's health care plan. He also dismissed Mr. Romney's argument that he balanced the Massachusetts budget." "Don't go around bragging about something you have to do," Mr. Santorum said. "Michael Dukakis balanced the budget for 10 years. Does that make him qualified to be president of the United States? I don't think so." With the hard choices we face ahead of us, America does not need another Pretender-in-Chief. We need a leader. Santorum is running as the principled, conservative alternative to President Obama and he is counting on Conservatives, Evangelicals, Catholics, republicans, Independents and disaffected democrats to stand with him in this long and difficult fight. Nominating Romney is giving BHO & DNC a red meat. They can easily mobilize their base because of a lot of his personal and professional baggage (as a Wall Street guy who is part of the 1%). Santorum with his humble beginnings (lived in public housing, from the coal miner grand father) will have the best chance of beating BHO as BHO & DNC cannot carry class warfare against him. Whether you agree with him or not, we know where Santorum consistently stand (with exception of some of his votes which he regrets). Can anyone say the same about any one of the other candidates including Romney?

• Have women in Arizona accepted their secondary role to men, to be used, abused and discarded or simply as door mats for the good ole white men of a by-gone era and their followers?

RP does not have an accomplishment for all the time he spent in Congress. he neve even became a chairman of a committee.  Compared to other candidates Santorum has less or no political and personal issues. He is the only candidate with national security & foreign affairs experience. He ha legislative victories in welfare reform, marriage between a man and a woman, late term partial abortion and fought for a tort reform etc.. Please read the Iran Freedom & Support Act & the Syrian Accountability Act - which he authored in 2004. He has  family friendly and manufactured centered economic policy. Rupert Murdoch (owner of Fox News) said Santorum is the one with a big idea. The wall Street Journal said Santorum's economic policy is bold. Rush Limbaugh said Santorum has not hut a conservative cause. Santorum has 88% ratings by ACU and 98% ratings by NRA. He got 75% of the votes by the leader5s of people of faith who met in Houston Texas in January 2012.

• All candidates want to get support as much as humanly possible. Arpaio seems to have some admiration as a stand up guy even outside of Arizona. Seeking his support does not mean approval of everything that he does or does not do. Unless you are in a position to investigate and evaluate what he has or  might have done, there is no way for Santorum to know about the Sheriff. I think your criticism of Santorum is simply unfair.

• Santorum is an honorable man  who lived  honorable life. What evidences do you have in order to call him a "con artist and criminal?".  I have never seen an iota of evidence that makes him "a con artist and a criminal."

• The mass media and some commentators would like to present Santorum as a candidate whose strength is only in social issues. They deliberately do this in order to have BHO reelected. Santorum is not only the leader in social issues but in national security and foreign policy. Please read the two acts that he authored in 2004: The Iran Freedom Act and the Syrian Accountability Act. Santorum strongly opposes a government intrusion in private sectors. Base on principle, He opposed all bailouts. He condemns the current administration’s infringement on freedom of religion and conscience. The government should not force religious individuals and religious organizations such as catholic schools, charities etc. to provide its employees with contraceptives, morning-after pills (Plan B) and sterilization. This is an infringement on religious freedom and an attack on people of faith. Let us take some common factors for all the candidates and evaluate them in order to hire one of them as POTUS: 1. Character and integrity -Santorum wins hands down; No flip-flops in cap & trade, climate change, bailouts, abortion , gay marriage, individual health mandates etc.; Compared to others he has very less or no personal, professional and political issues. He could make Barack Obama and his policies an issue of the general campaign. We cannot afford a candidate who will be an issue in the general campaign. 2. Humble Beginnings - Santorum wins (lived in public housings - with a coal miner parents'); has less money than Obama and the remaining candidates. There is nothing wrong in having more money. Having less money discourages the left from using class warfare. They cannot say Santorum is part of the 1% who represents the interest of the Wall Street. 3. Consistency in conservative leadership in sanctity of life & family, consistently supports marriage between a man & a woman, fought for tort reform; fought for welfare reform, Defense of Marriage Act(  DOMA), late term abortion and had legislative victories etc.: Santorum has a matchless record in social issues. Romney has started saying he lived having core conservative values. Romney’s father was Rockefeller republican and his mother was pro-choice. He even called himself severely conservative. Is there anyone who could tell us what Romney’s consistent values have been for his life time? Santorum got 75% of the votes by leaders of Evangelicals, Catholics, and Protestants who met early this year in Houston Texas (all candidates sent their surrogates to the two day conference who heard all of them speak for their respective candidates before the votes). He has 88% rating by ACU. He has 98% ratings by NRA while Ron Paul has 50%. 4. Sound national security and foreign policy:  Santorum even won in the last two CNN debates when asked about US foreign policy for Latin America etc. and various issues including issues related to individual mandates and Romney care. No other candidate has an experience in national security & foreign policy like Santorum. Please read online the Iran Freedom & Support Act & the Syrian Accountability act which were authored by Santorum in 2004. Why do we look to a novice (such as Romney and others) in national security and foreign policy when we have already a well experienced candidate (Santorum)? As a person who worked for 8 years as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, he knows better about our national security and international interests. 5. Likability: It is widely believed that Santorum is the most likable candidate with less or almost no personal and professional issues. He is a faithful husband, father of 7 children. He is the best role model for a family. 6. Economic Policy: Santorum is the only candidate who has a family friendly and manufacturing centered economic policy that helps US to grow our economy and jobs. Through this policy he can win back Reagan democrats, blue collar workers in the swing states. The Wall Street Journal called Santorum’s economic policy as the boldest when compared to Romney’s. 7. Negative Campaign; Insider or/and Outsider issue: Romney has already spent $20 Million to attack his fellow republicans. He has continued to distort Santorum’s records. Romney is the worst in negative campaign followed by Ron Paul and Gingrich. Romney requested earmarks for Utah Olympics and for Massachusetts. He accuses Santorum as earmarker, insider and big government spender.  Getting earmarks and bringing the bacon home gladly was one of the reason representatives were sent to Washington DC, according to former Senator from Wyoming, Allen Simpson on CSPAN last night. The debt ceiling while Santorum was in US Senate was very much smaller than what it is now. It is better to say that Romney is the current ultimate insider (most elite and Republican establishment still support Romney) because he is for the status quo. Being an insider gives you a better insight and understanding of the problems in the federal government (the three coequal branches of our government). Santorum left the Senate five years ago and has been in private sector since then. Earmark is less than 1% of the US yearly budget and is legal. Resorting to such insignificant issue and an attack by Romney shows his desperation to simply get a vote at any cost. 8. Debating skills: Although he does not promote himself as the best debater like Newt, Santorum won the last two CNN debates (almost all media outlets agreed to the fact that Santorum won based on substance). There are three presidential debates in the fall. The idea that a candidate will have a Douglas – Lincoln debate type is just an illusion and a stunt to get votes. Nobody can force any one to a debate outside of he officially agreed upon three debates to which he may not agree. Rupert Murdoch (Owner of the Fox News) said Santorum has a big idea when compared to others. Rush Limbaugh said he is the one who has not harmed the conservative cause.  Ron Paul is a libertarian. He ran on Libertarian ticket in 1988. He has not ruled out a possibility of running as a third party candidate in 2012. He has not adequately addressed about his racist newsletters published under his name and for which he was the editor. His isolationist foreign policy and his belief that America is responsible for all the attacks against it including 911 and his objection to America’s entry into WWII, which stopped Nazis and communists world domination won't be acceptable to the majority of Americans. Romney is unreliable and Newt is unpredictable, according to those who closely know them. Romney is not credible to stand against Obama on Obamacre, bailouts, government takeover of private properties. Newt married three times and changed church three times. Newt was for bailouts, TARP, the bogus man made climate change, cap & trade. Newt divorced twice due to infidelity.
