Paul Babeu Doesn't Trust DOJ Report on Joe Arpaio's Racial Profiling Practices; Says Timing's Meant to Distract From "Fast and Furious"

paulbabeuportrait.jpg
Paul Babeu: I don't trust the feds.
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu says he hasn't had a chance to read the U.S. Department of Justice's report on Joe Arpaio's committing some of the worst acts of racial profiling in U.S. history, but that isn't stopping him from chiming in and bashing the feds.

Somehow, Babeu's using Arpaio's bad day as an excuse to continue to crow about "Operation Fast and Furious," the DOJ's botched gun-running sting.

According to Babeu, he's suspicious of the timing of the release of the DOJ's findings because it happens to fall on the one-year anniversary of the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, who was killed a year ago today by weapons federal authorities let "walk" as part of "Fast and Furious."

See Babeu's comments below -- and keep in mind, Babeu and America's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff" are homboys. He's also likely running for Congress -- do the math.

"I have little faith and trust in the U.S. Department of Justice after the actions, subsequent cover up and failure to accept responsibility regarding Operation Fast and Furious.  The fact they chose today to release their findings was only done to take the attention away from themselves.  Today marks the one year anniversary since the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

Last evening, the Terry family announced they are demanding that government officials accept responsibility and arrest and prosecute all of the individuals involved with Brian's murder.  U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was gunned down in a shootout with Mexican smugglers

in Southern Arizona.  The gun, which killed Agent Terry, was later tied to the failed Operation Fast and Furious.  The U.S. Department of Justice had allowed 2,000 guns including assault weapons and 50 caliber rifles to be purchased on U.S. soil and then turned over to the drug

cartels of Mexico during this fundamentally flawed operation.

The U.S. Department of Justice and Eric Holder have concealed information from Congress and the American people about this operation. Eric Holder and the Department of Justice have already been heavily criticized during Congressional hearings to determine the facts surrounding this operation because of their unwillingness to provide information.  Yet, within 12 hours of the Terry family has announcing they want justice against all of those responsible for Operation Fast and Furious, the U.S. Department of Justice decides to release their findings from a 3 ½ year old investigation on MCSO?  The timing of the release of the MCSO investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice was only done today in an attempt to  take away the negative attention from their responsibilities for Brian's murder and the murders of hundreds of people in Mexico.

Brian Terry swore an oath to protect and defend our Constitution and protect America. Members in law enforcement will continue to stand with the Terry family and press our government for justice as we will not allow Brian's death to be in vain."

Feds give guns to mexican drug cartels as part of an effort to undermine the 2nd amd. and then do a slow dance to secure AZ latino votes....not to mention the timing of the release to maximize negative media coverage....I am no Joe fan but the feds actions seems very similar to ORD politics.

Who in the world cares what Babeu says, he's nothing more than a Arpaio wannabe

Thank you Paul Babeu for standing for the America PEOPLE and not wishy washy bureaucrats.  With only 1,000 Sheriffs like you, we can stand up to any B. S. that Wershington puts out.  PUN FULLY INTENDED!  Everyone should be aware why Obbie Kenyobi wants to flood America with illegals.  Not just to get reelected by the ignorant and the those he buys off with citizenship, but also to become LEGAL himself.......................BODYSLAM!

A sincere message to Sheriff Baboon. You and Sheriff greaseballl are cut from the same cloth...not much law enforcement but plenty of time for TV coverage. You might want to put a finger to the wind while sucking greaseball's cock and see if it is still blowing the way you thought it was. By the way could never figure out how you're always on TV but yet supposedly doing your job. At what point does your job involve constantly being on television. If I lived in your county I would demand that you fucking work for your stipend boy! You chase down those criminals and illegals close up and personal with a little camera on your pointed fucking head. What is it with AZ....is there a sign I missed on the way in that says "Con Artist Paradise"?.

In November we discovered the "disgraced former State Senate President, Mister Pearce". Today we have discovered the formally disgraced MCSO Sheriff.

We taxpayers and voters in Maricopa County should be shamed.

Neither of this two should ever have made it through the 2008 election cycle.

NOW, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors should come out with a statement about how embarrassed that the Flaccid Failure has internationally embarrassed Maricopa County, Arizona.

NOW the BOS has the ammunition.

I have a comment directly to Paul Babeu.

Stay out of it.

It's none of YOUR business.

Concentrate on Pinal County, where you're SUPPOSED to be sheriff.

We, the voters and taxpayers of Maricopa County will take care of the blunderings and misdeeds of the sheriff.

You, Paul, are ONE of fifteen sheriffs in Arizona. Do your job, in Pinal County where you live and belong.

Amazing how the commentors here are able to show just how ignorant they are and to display exactly how well the marxist left has turned them into dupes and useful idiots.  Dhimmicrats running AZ?  Wouldn't that be great. Any sane person would move to New Mexico.  At least they have a sensible governor now.

Babeu said: "The timing of the release of the MCSO investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice was only done today in an attempt to  take away the negative attention from their responsibilities for Brian's murder and the murders of hundreds of people in Mexico."

Babeu, timing is important.  Maybe Mr. Holder released the report when it was ready to release.

Maybe Mr. Holder wanted to distract Paul Babeu from the fact that today is the 220th anniversary of the Bill of Rights coming into effect as Constitutional Amendments, knowing he and Mr. Obama are personally executing a "master-plan plot" conspiracy to destroy it and want to keep Babeu awake at night worrying about it.

Maybe Mr. Holder was being sensitive toward Mr. Babeu, and in behalf of Janet Napolitano, they chose to release their investigation today, being the 38th anniversary of the American Psychiatric Association Board voting to delete homosexuality from its manual of mental illnesses.

But that may not be it since the un-American Obama regime continues to persecute America's gayest, not-at-all paranoid hero, "Sheriff" Paul Babeu.

Timing, Mr. Babeu. Might be time to open closet doors. Might be time to discuss his military retirement.

Babeu is a smart man.  Think about it.  He sniffs Arpaio's asshole and when needed, sneaks in a lick.  Then people see him and applaud his mimicking of the flaccid failure.  So he sniffs some more.  It is like Arpaio's crack is Babeu's crack cocaine and he never stops sniffing.  Problem is everybody has to crap sometime and someone as aged as Arpaio is probably on a more random schedule with a wide ranging consistency.  While Babeu is not smart enough to come up for air or to avoid the inevitable shit storm, he is smart enough to be bald, which makes cleanup a breeze.

coming from a sheriff who had a deputy falsely claim he was attacked by drug runners, that isnt saying much..especially since Babeu backed him up, and it was only after a reporter was threatened did he fire him!

Pauly,  should stick to giving Louie Puroll fake awards!  You know that if this bald A-hole could run for his buddy Joe's spot as Maricopa County Sheriff he would be the first to agree with the DoJ. Hey you need to grease up that nogging and place it a little deeper up Joes ass!

Babeau needs to wake up to the fact that Arizonan's are pretty sick of egotistic cowboy politicians running their mouths off.

Babeau is just chimming in because this is his one great chance at garnering some national attention to get a jump on his campaign for a congressional seat.

Wouldn't it be great if we voted out two blowhard politicians next election?!!

Maybe if the "Marginalized" media did their job of reporting the news, instead of being cheerleaders for Obama & his crew of incompetents, the general public might start giving them some respect again. WHERE were the MSM when BHO was running? The hardest questions BHO faced pre-election came from the minister of the Camelback Church in CA!

The BoS can't fire the failing Sheriff.  However, they can take his accounting crises along with other issues and put him on a line item budget.  They also allocate and assign his budget from year to year.  Arpaio, as an elected official, has the authority to mismanage his own budget.   I believe that the BoS should opine to trim items from the Sheriff's budget, such as his PR staff which should be ONE person.  Might take a few cycles to get the point across, during which he will cut out unnecessary items such as homicide investigations, internal affairs, similar to how he cut sex crimes out.  Eventually, he will have to cut PR.

yes. I dont remember much about the people before her, I moved here in 2001. I know I am a new comer, but I consider myself an Arizonan now. And yes, SHE very much was a breath of fresh air. She tried to be as fair as possible to the disadvantaged, children, minorities, the elderly, and veterans. It's too bad she got offered a federal position. I was sad to see her go, and Brewer and her mental IQ of 16 I saw as a problem.Oh well.. There is always next election to get a moderate in there!

That would be the best thing to happen to Arizona since inception under the Taft administration.

BTW, President William Howard Taft was a Republican. He also was a U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice.
