The race for the District 5 seat, which will be vacated by termed-out Councilman Claude Mattox, also saw similar election results.
Sperduti didn't make the cut with her nearly 44 percent of the vote, losing the bid to Daniel Valenzuela, who almost made it to 57 percent of the vote.
Phoenix residents cast 147,348 ballots citywide in Tuesday's election, a few hundred more than the 144,716 voters who turned out in the August 30 primary election.
