Poll: Barack Obama Leads All Republican Presidential Candidates in Arizona

If next year's presidential election were held today, President Barack Obama would carry Republican-leaning Arizona, according to a recent poll.

According to a Rocky Mountain poll released yesterday, Obama leads all possible Republican candidates in Arizona by at least a five-percentage-point margin.

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is the GOP candidate who comes closest to Obama, according to the poll, trailing the president 45-percent to 40-percent.

Texas Governor Rick Perry and businessman Herman Cain are the GOP's silver-medalists, each trailing Obama 45-percent to 38-percent.

For the record, each of those candidates have sought the endorsement of Maricopa County's 79-year-old sheriff, Joe Arpaio.

The results of the poll have caused CNN's Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser to conclude that Arizona could be "competitive in the general election," which is somewhat surprising considering the state's Republican leanings.

"All year long, we've seen Republican presidential candidates overreach and go to extremes," Arizona Democratic Chairman Andrei Cherny says, "and Mitt Romney's recent call to let homeowners hit rock bottom only reinforces that the GOP is out of touch with the mainstream. Republicans may be in for a rude awakening in 2012."

Obama did much better than expected in Arizona -- his opponent Senator John McCain's home state -- in the 2008 presidential election, losing to McCain by about 200,000 votes.

LoL I have been trying to tell people this for months. The moderate voters are against the radical republican candidates. The republicans aren't listening, which is fine with me.

Given Obama's fondness for military conflict, his enrichment of Wall Street at the expense of working people, his war on Cannabis, etc, the headline should read

"Obama leads all OTHER Republican candiates in Arizona."

Yes, they have proven they are complete idiots by electing people like Thomas, Pearce and Arpaio. Nothing new here.

Why?   And what does it matter?     The winner has already been decided just like the future of this country and all the other countries in this world.    It's all a drama put on for the benefit of all the smart people who have great knowledge of all things.    Get out there and vote because it makes a difference.    Vote twice, they won't mind.

It is no coincidence that of the last 14 U.S. presidents, 7 have been Democrats and 7 have been Republicans:

Our Kleptocracy-controlled media focuses on America's two-year election cycles as if who wins or loses in the swinging of the pendulum was a matter of life or death, when in fact even at the Presidential level it makes no more difference than the outcomes of Monday Night Football, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, Hillbilly Handfishing or the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor.  U.S. elections are staged primarily to give Sheeple the illusion of control so they will (a) vent their frustrations and expend their energy, emotions and resources supporting or attacking the Puppet on the Left hand or the Puppet on the Right, and consequently (b) never recognize and challenge the common omnipotent Puppetmaster.

There was no real change in 2008.  There was no real change in 2010.  There WILL be real change in 2012, but it won't be coming from tele-brainwashed couch potatoes, manipulated voter lists, rigged voting machines or predetermined ballot counts.  It will be coming from us...

The demise of president Obama's administration has been very much over stated, and given the enormous void in common sense or any notion of reality from republican candidates, he is going to do much better in the election than anyone expects. While republicans are chasing their own demons, arguing over esoteric intangible or irrelevant ideas the President is attempting to address the concerns of the majority of americans in terms that can be understood.

Is this law Racist? Does it specify brown people? Are the people who agree with this law racist? Are those who want this law enforced racist? The law says nothing of little "brown" people but it explains what is illegal entry. It's not very hard to understand. Why is this law "broken"? Why can it be selectively ignored?Illegal alien includes all people who entered illegally, could be Croation, Russian, Chinese, Irish, Canadians and yes even Mexicans. No one single race or people is referenced in the law. Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact; has committed a federal crime.Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense. These people cost Pheonix and surrounding cities hundreds of millions to support the education, health and welfare of these illegal immigrants. A landscape worker paid by cash (no taxes) and his wife (a stay at home mom), have been here for 16 years and had 7 children born in the US. Who do you think paid for her medical bills???Why isn't Obwama dealing with this?We can not afford 4 more years of Obwama!!!

I watched President Obama on Leno the other night.  He came across as not only a statesman but also a regular guy.  The man is very aware of the human condition, hell he was a community organizer in Chicago where in many communities the "human condition" is pure inner city hell.  Maybe not somebody you'd want to drink a beer with, more like coffee and intelligent conversation.  I've watched a lot of shows outlining and crowing about what Obama hasn't done in the last 3 years so it was nice to see one about the things he HAS accomplished in three years.  The list is actually quite long so I think he has the right to outwardly laugh at his descentors!  Point being, I think whoever the Republicans put up on the front line is going to get their asses smoked.  So far mainstream media has ripped apart every one of the "hopefuls".  And they all have one thing in common, they lack 3 plus years (by election time) of solid experience as President of the United States.

While I'm not real impressed with him so far, compared to the bat-shit crazies the Rs are putting up, he is definitely the better choice, as things stand.

Judging by the R front-runners, conservatism has become an experiment in the de-evolution of man.

Why don't you write about the subject of the article instead of starting of on a subject that isn't currently being discussed. You are off in left field little man.

Heh, we can't afford 4 years of having any of the possible republican candidates in the presidential seat. They would further the disparity between the rich and the poor, they would take more of our civil rights, they would keep the economy in the gutter with their trickle down theories that have now been proven not to work...Obama is the best choice considering the options and unless you are a moron and social conservative that believes the govt should make decisions that affect anyones sexual orientation, takes away their ability to medicate themselves with natural medications than those by pharmaceutical companes, or makes the decision for everyone of where life starts (a quest for social conservatives to outlaw abortion).

A statesman who has committed at a minimum 25 impeachable offenses. This guy is scum.

Good to see others stating this. I have been saying for some time, at least prior to Obama's potus election win, that Obama was the lesser evil given the choices we have. Sure there are plenty of thing he has done wrong but given the alternative we could have been stuck with, things could have been much worse.

Nothing Obama has done has come close to the abhorrent lies told by bush about WMDs and then using those lies to justify a war and the deaths of 1000s of americans. Pull your head for once in you life. Obama isn't perfect but he is a better bet than any other candidate that has a chance of winning. Provide evidence that supports anyone would be better for the economy, for the poor and middle class, for real freedom to make decisions for yourself... you can't come up with any viable candidate that would do better in all these aforementioned areas.

Better a blithering idiot like the previous office occupant?  Yeah got news for you Bob, I would personally let Obama get away with a hundred of your imaginary impeachable offenses.  We survived the son of a bitch Bush for 8 goddamned years and by survive I mean barely.  So you bitches are going to suck up 8 years of Obama and like it.  There is one "impeachable offense" the GOP will never live down, their president taking this country to war based on lies ... You wanna talk scumbags!  But then again Bob, I'm betting you're big a Russell Pearce groupie too.. admit it.

Yep, he sure does. He can't handle a rational debate if it bit him on the ass. It was hilarious in this last month to see YourProductSucks state that I had no evidence of racist cartoons circulating around the mcso intranet, and then I produce the evidence that the Feathered Bastard posted just this last April and he ignores it in favor of continuing on with rationalizations for his homophobia. Sad that this numbnut actually polices the rest of us.
