Occupy Phoenix: Fliers Titled "When Should You Shoot a Cop" Found at Demonstration

Fliers explaining when it's OK to kill a cop were found about 100 yards from where we took this photo of these two gun-toting "occupiers." However, authorities say there's nothing to suggest that "occupiers" wrote the fliers.
Department of Public Safety officials confirm to New Times that a stack of fliers was found at the "Occupy Phoenix" demonstration at Cesar Chavez Plaza in Phoenix yesterday. The fliers basically explain when it's OK to shoot a cop, hence the title of the document: "When Should You Shoot a Cop."

Don't go blaming the anti-establishment "occupiers" just yet, though -- DPS spokesman Bart Graves says it's currently unclear who's responsible for the fliers.

"At ths point we don't see any connection between the fliers and Occupy Phoenix," Graves tells New Times.

The stack of fliers was found yesterday by a Maricopa County Sheriff's deputy and turned over to the DPS.

Graves says the DPS then notified law enforcement agencies across the state and launched an investigation into who penned the flier.

The two-page fliers outline scenarios where it's appropriate to kill "any government agent" who violates a person's Constitutional rights.

Some of those scenarios include airport security checkpoints, the border, and sobriety checkpoints.

According to the flier, "if a cop decides to treat you like livestock, you usually have only two options: submit, or kill the cop."

The flier concludes with the following paragraph:

"The next time you hear of a police officer being killed 'in the line of duty,' take a moment to consider the very real possibility that maybe in that case, the 'law enforcer' was the bad guy and the 'cop killer' was the good guy. As it happens, that has been the case more often than not through recorded history."

The spokesman for the "occupiers" tells a local radio station that members of his group are not responsible for the fliers and insists that "Occupy Phoenix" is a peaceful demonstration -- and he appears to be right.

We've spent some time with the "occupiers," and despite the personal arsenal seen in the above photo, they've been relatively tame -- as of yesterday, Phoenix police tell New Times there have only been 51 total arrests since the demonstration began about two weeks ago.

If the "occupiers" aren't responsible for the fliers, who is?

Well, according to one "occupier" who spoke to KTAR, it's time to round up all the usual suspects: the banks, the government, and corporate America, which he says probably planted the fliers in the park to make the "occupiers" look violent, in an attempt to get police to shut down the demonstration.

"Corporate America's" not typically in the business of conspiring to plant instructions on how to murder cops at a demonstration that -- as of the last time we checked out the "occupation" -- has roughly 20 people protesting in a city thousands of miles away from the epicenter of "Corporate America," New York City.

If you ask us, the smart money's on the government -- more specifically, the Maricopa County Sheriff's deputy who just happened to be in the Plaza and stumble upon this stack of murder instructions.

We sent an email to the MCSO explaining that the deputy's discovery seems a little fishy. We want to know what the deputy was doing in the Plaza (each time we've been to the demonstration, we've only seen officers from the Phoenix P.D. and the DPS. We've never seen a sheriff's deputy at "Occupy Phoenix"). We also want to know where this deputy found this stack of fliers.

Further, we asked the MCSO if there's anything to suggest that the deputy planted the fliers in an attempt to make the "occupiers" look like cop-killing maniacs.

The MCSO didn't immediately get back to us tonight. We'll let you know when it does -- check back for updates.

Cops are gangsters, kidnappers, extortionists, murderers, thieves and good-for-nothing-scum. The only reason exist is because you eunach cowards lack the balls or the will to stand up and defend yourself. The fact that this makes you bunch of cowards scream and beg for protection from your nanny government proves what a bunch of degenerate punks Americans have become.

You don't deserve freedom, you bunch of pathetic mongrels. Roll over when kicked, dog.

Wht the hell?  Investigation into who penned the document?  It isn't and never was a secret.  It's a signed document, written by Larkin Rose.  If you have a problem with the document, you also have a problem with the declaration of independence, which also condoned resisting oppressive government action.

Larkin's response:

Are you such a poor Journalist that you must resort to inflamatory terms that don't have any real-world meaning outside of their emotional implications? Please, stop using inflamatory terms like "personal arsenal" when all the people in the photo are doing is carrying a gun unconcealed.

Daily Mail squirms again.  Huge article about St. Pauls' clergy high-ups quitting over church's treatment of Occupiers and it has disappeared within minutes of being posted and a search of their archives shows nothing.  So there is alot of problem over Occupy reportage - here is a link to other source but not as complete - more resignations of high - level clergy than this according to DM disappeared article.

11/9/11 Hysteria?

On November 9,2011 the Asteroid 2005 YU55 will pass between the Moon and the Earth. Yu55 is a rather large asteroid, about the size of a Soccer field. Officially there is not supposed to be any real danger but a few strange things are co-incidentally happening at about the same time. A huge military/FEMA event is happening in the Pacific Ocean. It’s called, Exercise Pacific Wave. On the 9th 10th and 11th of November Pacific Countries will act out how they would respond to earthquakes, tsunamis and other catastrophic events. Add to this the fact that 5 planets are going to be in alignment, and the new Asteroid will pass through the tail of Comet Elenin and you have a major Conspiracy event. Talk of Doomsday is spreading all over the web. We choose to keep a pretty cool head in the light of this continuing string of bizarre catastrophes we seem to be going through lately, but we are keeping our eyes open …. and so should you. To read more about the NEW ASTEROID do some clicking here .

Good bet that this was a plant either by right-wing loons or a branch of law enforcement. This sort of tactic was used heavily by the FBI and others against leftist groups during the Vietnam era, and it appears that it is coming back into fashion.

Interesting to watch various media squirming over Occupy coverage.  This was on the front page of the Daily Mail for a minute but someone insisted on it's removal.

The Daily Mail kept the "We Are Wall Street" leaflet coverage up for a bit longer.Chicago traders taunt ‘Occupy Chicago’ protesters with ‘We are Wall Street’ leaflets

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/201...

Here is one of the responses to the We Are Wall Street leaflets.  It's worth clicking on the link below to read the text of the leaflets as most are not putting the text in their articles.  Here are some of the comments I particularly liked.

I am Main Street. I'm the guy whose home you packaged as a commodity. Whose job you outsourced to increase profit reports 25 cents for the quarter push stock up. Whose paycheck had its value deflated when you decided to buy oil on a short contract and hold back reserves to fluctuate the market in your favor. I am Main Street, and you won't take my job, because I don't have one anymore, and if I do you aren't trained for it because your MBA doesn't qualify you to teach children, practice law, repair a toilet, or wire a house. I am Main Street, and I eat what I grow. When there's no land left to grow, I trade my labor for someone else's food. I don't take it then act like I earned it when I got it from someone else's pantry. I eat what I kill, and I kill anything that tries to steal off my plate. I am Main Street, and you think you're a world smart predator. You're vultures, taking only the leavings of others. We're wolves down here on Main Street, boys. Bring it.- John, Orwigsburg, PA, 29/10/2011 22:56I would like to see them work regular jobs. It's not like sitting at a computer all day. They would actually find out what it is to produce something, as opposed to spending all day gambling. This is the biggest reason the economy suffers when Wall Street executives are overcompensated after being bailed out by taxpayers. "Work" that produces nothing is not legitimate, and if it's too big a part of the economy our dollars will be useless, particularly when their pay is extracted from unwilling taxpayers in a bailout. Dollars "earned" by doing and producing nothing are in a sense not real money, and our economy is swimming in that stink. Without their paltry contribution to the real goods and services being exchanged in our economy, we would be better off. China maybe not so much. So go ahead, you leeches of society. Show us how much we'll miss you when you're gone. And make it snappy.- Fern, USA, 29/10/2011 16:57Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new...

I'm not surprised. This demostrates the stupidity of a lot of the idiots in this movement. All Americans need is to encourage a central government, that is already doing too much spying into the everyday lives of Americans, to get even tougher, more despotic, more dictatorial, by giving more powers to the cops under the pretense of an out of control citizenry. Idiots.

Nancy Pelosi, that icon of honesty on the left, called the Tea Party folks Nazis, when they wanted to meet with their representatives, in the town halls that their taxes paid for. Yet, she wouldn't and hasn't uttered a word about the OWS crowds excesses..

Wow, apparently Mr. King is fine with slandering the deputy with no evidence at all. I imagine he still uses the word "allegedly" repeatedly when describing someone who actually got arrested for committing a crime. Seems the journalistic standards are loose in Phoenix.

Fair enough. It's the scapegoating on both sides of the matter that has become ridiculous. The most probable scenario in this is also the most ignored. We have lost yet another officer over the weekend while people are ignorantly, haphazardly pointing the finger at the sheriffs office for planting these pamphlets that condone and even encourage people to kill police officers. Those that do so are worthless thieves of oxygen. And people wonder why it's an 'us v them' gap between law enforcement and the public.

I hope you know that it is obvious that you don't like the occupy movement from the way you skew your articles in the headlines and in the main body.  What you don't know is that these yellow-journalism tactics make me question every article you write, no matter if I agree with you or not.  Whatever you've got up your ass about this movement is ruining what little credibility you have.  BUt you just keep on doing it.

The fact that the fliers were found by an MCSO deputy should automatically come with the assumption that its a complete lie.

On a different note, its not as though the cops dont shoot citizens for absolutly no reason other then they like using people and their dogs as target practice (RICHARD CHRISMON) someone decides to return the favor to them , more power to them

YPS,for starters let me clear something up. I take it  by your comments that you are assuming that I am anti-law enforcement, well nothing could be further from the truth.Just so you know we have many law enforcement officers in our family. As a matter of fact an upper ranking officer is godfather to my son.Our family is well aware of the dangers that law enforcement officers face on a daily basis. That being said for you to say that it is asinine to  even consider that a member of a police agency is capable of such an act is in itself asinine.I hope that the officer was not involved in this act but if he was,I would also suspect that he would not be acting as a lone wolf but more as a good soldier following orders from higher ups Yes the evidence is purely circumstancial but it does tend to raise suspicion."And people wonder why it's an us v them gap between law enforcement and the public". There is no "gap" between real, honest ,brave & dedicated law enforcement officers & the public. The gap exsist between the dishonest, corrupt so called law enforcement officers & the public. One has to wonder with all the shenanigans going on with AARPiehole, which side does he fall on ?

Yes, but this is nothing new. In fact, there is probably not a single modern nation that doesn't have contingency plans against people that want to radically overthrow the established order. That is why movements that threaten the established order never seem to work when they start to rely a lot on force. Many people believe that what ended the Vietnam conflict, was the protesters on college campuses, and the support of the professors. I witnessed this period and was involved in it. I can tell you that the protestors did not change the administrations mind, nor did the professors on college campuses that wanted an end to the war. Only about a third or less of the college professors ever got involved, and believe it or not, there were not that many protestors, as the popular media depicts. Probably no more than a half million people nation wide got involved. Not even the so -called "Greatest Generation", did anything to end it. On the contrary, they were having Hawiian barbecue pool parties in the backyard and discussing what the latest Ford or Chevy cost. They couldn't have cared how many young people got killed. They were the follow the rules generation, and believe the government;, part of the reason we are now in the mess we are in. No, what ended the war in Vietnam, was that the soldiers themselves, or very many of them, refused to continue to fight it, when they realized what it was really all about.

"idiots" Bobby?  Really?  AZ police and firefighters have good reason to join Occupy now that their own pensions have been destroyed by the exact same criminality that occupiers are protesting.  There are not enough good jobs left for taxpayers to keep bailing out victims of the criminality.

There is zero evidence that the pamphlets were planted by an mcso deputy where you assert evidence exists. You stating you are law enforcement friendly because you have 'family' in law enforcement is akin to one stating they arent racist because they have friends that are black. I take exception to your flippant attitude towards mcso deputies simply because attacking the deputies involved fits your agenda. Fuck you and those as irresponsible as you in their rash conclusions against mcso employees. I venture to guess that you won't do a single thing to aid those feeling the loss of the fallen Glendale Officer, yet you trample on his memory and the memory of others who have fallen in the line of duty by your flippant, judgmental antics against the entire law enforcement community with your conclusion jumping.

Yes I have been wondering about the current high rate of suicide and PTSD in our young military.   If it were an effort they could truly be proud of I think there would be much less of that.  They might be angry reading my words and I am not trying to take their pride and honor from them - just reaching for the truth.

Fragging - the definition is so weak and clinical compared to the truth of the matter.

Plenty of people had the TV on while they ate dinner and complaints were made about the VietNam coverage with all that blood and gore was not dinner fare but I wouldn't change it for the world.  You say not that many people actually protested - but they are heroes, they changed the dialogue, those of us at home watching on our televisions realized their truth thanks to the integrity of the journalists and media of the time (or so it appeared to me then.)

The established order is not working for the 99%.  We don't like where we are.  We don't like the crimes that have been done to us with no hope of restitution.  There is a 1% that is way out of control and has way too much power.  I do not hear the occupiers calling themselves anti-capitalist and I do not believe that they are anti-capitalist.  I hear the media calling them that because either they do not think or someone is paying them to do so.

From the banks charging excessive fees after re-ordering our accounts every which way they can in hopes of creating an insufficient fund situation to the utility companies that also RED-LINE us according to our income - refusing to adapt their billing cycle to when we get our checks, creating a false history of late payment and then charging excessive fees to keep them on - those of us who can least afford it - most recently it was APS to the tune of a $600 "deposit."  And we were not alone - many homes in my neighborhood went dark and even now, my whole street - all homeowners except for us, nobody could afford Halloween candy - no this is not working well for us.

You say there are other ways to deal with our problems.  And what are they?  How are the homeowners in my neighborhood to avoid the unreasonable charges of the utility company that has redlined them?  How are we to address this redlining problem?  Just for one example.  There are plenty more examples of people being victimized with no recourse.  If it's big enough, like AZ police and firefighter pensions, oh the taxpayer gets to pick up the tab.  Are there really enough taxpayers left to pay that much?  What about my SIL whose health insurance of many years has called her newly developed heart condition "pre-existing" and refuses to pay for any testing or treatment even when her doctor wrote a letter on her behalf stating that it was not pre-existing.  This is a rogue corporation taking unfair advantage and she has no recourse unless she is wealthy enough to hire an attorney that will actually not sell her out.  And about those attorneys that intentionally sabotage your case and make deals with the opposition and line their pockets and rip you off and make you lose - where is our recourse for that?  What other ways?  Our whole society seems so corrupt from top to bottom that part of me says it deserves to be torn down.  What other ways?

restitutiontouscitizensfirst
restitutiontouscitizensfirst

Correction - I do not believe that occupiers are the "appropriate" focal point for the rage - poor word choice - rather I believe they are becoming the commonly accepted focal point.  Lots of people are believing fallacies that somehow their lives would be better if so much of their tax dollar were not paid towards "entitlement" people who are losers, scamming off society etc.  So these people still have the rage but they haven't thought it out enough to realize that their grievances belong in the Occupy movement - that they should be Occupiers.

Restitutiontouscitizensfirst
Restitutiontouscitizensfirst

In my travels I see seemingly everybody marginalizing the people of the Occupy movement in all ways.  This is part of the media incited hate - well actually I think we have been socially engineered to hate and marginalize each other - yes it is human nature but it has become such a huge part of our culture and constant media tactic - so many people are thriving on hate and do not even realize it.  That is what I mean by the hate.  The meanspirited wanting to take peoples benefits and job-related perks from them - like the early out that police officers have.  They deserve that option.  They put their lives on the line for us every day.  Might hit 35 or 55 and find out that your body isn't liking the stress so well - let them retire with dignity from their life of public service.   But no, the media has been trying to incite us to take that excessive benefit from them - it is not excessive, it is necessary.   I read the comments sections in other media and I am appalled at how people prefer to hate rather than contemplate a new thought.  Even Joan Rivers got in on the act calling them a Yiddish word that I think means mental midget.

That is why I enjoy Chinese TV.  They discuss issues without the hate.  They do not assault the person bearing information they do not like.  They do not insult, find unreasonable fault with or assassinate the character of, their opponent.  They present information and discuss reasonably.  Like we once were.

I agree we are in scary times and there is much infiltration of the occupy movement worldwide in attempt to divide and conquer.  I do not believe that the other ways that you mention exist any more.  I posted on other thread about possible Soros link by A True Ott.  That is why we need to try to grasp this opportunity being created and make sure it goes where it needs to go. (Like I even have a clue.)  Also all media keeps calling them the "anti-capitalists" and I do not believe that label is correct.  On older occupy article here I posted link to good article explaining corporatism is not capitalism.

My position on Hate is not to silence dissent or discussion - rather meant to encourage thought and discussion as opposed to hatefully hurling insults and marginalizing rather than realizing that when so many people are on the same page - there is something to pay attention to - let us figure it out together.  The negative emotions are known to be just as addicting as the positive ones can be and culturally we have evolved to where most people are not verbalizing their pain - they have been taught that it is acceptable to lash out wherever and whenever - even if it is in a comment section.  This is inappropriate release of pent up misery and it is addicting just like drugs are.  Some people are addicted to falling in love, other people are addicted to the chase not the possession, culturally we are addicted to silencing the opposition with whatever cheap shot works, venting against our opponents with insult rather than superior logic and so on.  We are addicted culturally to the entertainment factor created by our bullying of our opponents and we do not own any of the pain or crime that comes from our incitement.  We would rather just be rid of the problem than actually give any thought to it.  We have been allowed to think that it is just that easy, in this throw-away modern life in the big city.  That is what I mean when I say hate is a drug.

I was afraid in the months preceding when I saw constant mainstream media incitement for Americans to express their rage at what is happening.  The Occupiers are becoming an inappropriate focal point for the pent up rage.  The true Occupiers have been trained in non-violence, the infiltrators are the inciters.  In some scenarios having one half of the working class killing the other half would be the goal, which is why I am paying attention.

On other accounts - I think that what you fear Bobby, we all fear and personally I would rather go down fighting.   I have neither the health nor the means to get to downtown Phoenix so here I am.

Heh, I agree on the bankrupting of the pension funds and the cause. I'm not a supporter of Wall Street. But I stick to my point on the more radical people in the OWS movment and what they will bring about in seeking this "instant change". This is a democracy and there are other ways to go about seeking important changes. I'm just stating my worry about the ultimate intentions of this group. It's well known that they have a very strong leftist bent, and that's enough to scare me. It's also rumored that the whole movement might be getting some financial impetus from the well known G. Soros, who's communist leanings aren't a secret to anyone. I don't know what you mean about HATE. HATE CHARGES, OR HATE CRIMES, are another far leftist strategy to silence debate, so I would tread softly in that territory.

YPS,You are correct ,there is no evidence that the pamphlets were planted by an mcso deputy,I incorrectly wrote" evidence". What should have been written is that the circunstances tend to raise suspicion. This does not mean that the perp could not be an mcso deputy.I suspect that any competant investigator would take the everyone is a suspect approach in investigating this incident and not automatically dismiss the possibility, such as you have."You stating you are law enforcement friendly because you have 'family' in law enforcement is akin to one stating they aren't racist because they have friends that are black". I wonder YPS,do you hold this view of all family members of law enforcement officers or are they reserved for just the ones that do not walk in lock-step with AARPiehole & his destructive policies? Your last statement was the most absurd .Our family's heart, thoughts & prayers go out to fallen officer Bradley Jones & all fallen officers & their families. To suggest that I would trample the memory of any fallen officer, while the very real possibility exsist, that at any given time, one of our family members could be the victim of some homicidal criminal is very insulting. My comment was not about the entire law enforcement community as you are trying to spin it.Look over the history of my comments never have I said anything reguarding the "entire law enforcement community". As a matter of fact we citizens, in our community work with law enforcement to try & clean up & rid our community of the criminal element. We are in frequent contact with our community officer & with their help we are winning. I would not hesitate to help an officer in need no matter what the circumstances. While I disagree with you on certain issues,I have no ill will towards you or mcso deputies in general. My beef has been with the leadership(or lack there of) at the mcso.Everyone has a job to do & in the end what matters is that everyone makes it back home safe to their families
