Occupy Phoenix: "99-Percenter" "Haight Ashbury" Explains Why Jan Brewer's a "Lying Whore" With Alzheimer's

Apparently, a "99-percenter" who goes by the name "Haight Ashbury" is responsible for the above protest sign calling Governor Jan Brewer a "lying whore" with Alzheimer's.
In our account of the "Occupy Phoenix" demonstration in downtown Phoenix earlier this month, we used the above image of an "occupier" holding a sign stating that Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is a "lying whore" who has Alzheimer's disease.

In our post about the rally, we suggested that calling someone a "lying whore" might not be the best way to go about spreading a message if that message is to be taken seriously by non-radicals.

Since our story was published, the sign's creator, a "99-percenter" who goes by the name "Haight Ashbury," sent us an email explaining why Jan Brewer is a "lying whore" with Alzheimer's.

"Ashbury's" issue with Governor Glug-Glug isn't that she literally sells her body for sex (good luck getting that image out of your head), rather that she's a "common whore" for selling out to "corporate Ameri-ka."

See "Ashbury's" complete email (all sic) below.

Dear "James King & Paul Rubin" :

"Mr. King,and Paul Rubin"

my name is Haight Ashbury, yes, just like San Francisco.

i am "the voice" behind the poster "legalize marijuana, Gov. Brewer has Alzheimers & is a lying whore".

unfortunately? the young girl holding the sign on the steps at protest is catching the blame & responsibility for "my signage". i was talking on the podium & and the young girl simply offered to hold my sign while i was blasting Corporate Ameri-Ka!

i was explaining my use of the word 'whore' as it applies to the Corporate owned lobbyist politicians, to wit: whenever someone 'buys' you, or whenever you "solicit" or "sell one's self out", you are not a 'nice person', you are a "Prostitute, a common whore..."

when Gov. Brewer took it upon herself to "bypass" Federal law "for her own Greed and satisfaction" (to wit: State Bill 1070)ohhhhh, THAT was ok! But HELL NO, GOD Forbid "THE PEOPLE" of Arizona voted into law Medical Marijuana, that Bitch takes it upon herself to IGNORE the people of Arizona, and to Ignore the State LAW  Legalizing MEDICAL Marijuana, it was obvious ,'one': she states this is a Federal Matter and can not be voted by the people of the state,(State Bill 1070 is ok though...)"two" She (the LYING WHORE) obviously "Sold Out" to "Korporate Ameri-Ka" , to the likes of the major pharmaceautical companies, thus becoming a whore, that lies.

Alzheimers? do you recal the long period of silence during her campaign debate session, that's earl stages of Alzheimers, i know what Alzheimers looks like, my Mother had t and my good friend Glen Campbell.

my sincere kindest regards,
Haight Ashbury

long live freedom of speech, the memory of the Kent State massacre, Timothy Leary , and 1968 to 1969!!!!!

Risky investments, poor oversight lead to $1.6B taxpayer bailout of police and fire pension fund

Read more: http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/...

"The men and women depending on that fund are not eligible for Social Security.""The fund had invested in some of the biggest losers in Wall Street history including Enron, WorldCom and JDS Uniphase. Here are two examples we discovered. The fund lost more than $74 million in a company called JDS Uniphase, a tech firm that did not report a profit during any quarter between 1997 and June 2011. The fund lost more than $101 million in a company called Covad---and that was 96 percent of the money it invested in the business communications firm. In both cases, the retirement fund lost more than 95 percent of their investment before dumping out of those stocks." This is occupy worthy.   Bean counters ripping off our finest that risk their lives daily in our service only to be marginalized as selfish and greedy by more bean counters?

I take it back - EXCELLENT WORK ABC15 Phoenix!

Thanks ABC 15 Phoenix TV News!  If you have had anything favorable about Occupy Phoenix I missed it.  Nope, you just want to blab on about how much freedom of speech has cost local taxpayers so far.

The 53% of Americans that pay taxes have started their own movement and here is their page;

http://the53.tumblr.com/

Please read the stories and ask yourself if the hard work and the pay-off for it that people write in about are conditions that still exist today for the majority of Americans.

Most of the articles I read about the 53% create lies about the 99% occupying wall st etc.,

These movements are being distorted into hate each other situations by the media.  The 99% and the 53% need to agree on what it will take to get the 99% into taxpaying category.   Lots of people are still plenty detached from the facts of life facing many of our workers or want to be workers today.

This a.m. I was listening to news article about farmers not being able to get workers to do their harvests and how this will put them out of business.  The attack on the unemployed was manifested - stating that people on unemployment do not wish to work and would rather keep receiving their checks.  Well this is once again a form of mischaracterization, lying.  Why would an unemployed person get cut-off from their unemployment for a 6 week harvest paycheck?   Doesn't our own rules of unemployment require that the applicant have 3 months of steady work on a job before they can apply for unemployment?  And if that paycheck was for a pittance, wouldn't that pittance be used as the basis for their future unemployment?   Or, if after a 6 week harvest there is no more work then they have no more pay and do not qualify for unemployment.

The statement was made that illegals do well on those jobs but now they are afraid to come and work them.  (There is a huge network that aids illegals to know of jobs, get to them, and house them when there and that network is not available to citizens.)  Most unemployed people that I know do not longer even have permanent residence, internet, phone or transportation.  They have no way to learn of job openings timely unless they live close to a job center, employment business or government job service.  They are now trying to manage their lives while living by the graciousness of others whose sensibilities and needs they must make first priority of rather than their own needs.  Even a simple thing like going to the bathroom or taking a shower is now something that they must be extremely careful about so as not to offend whoever is letting them sleep on their couch.  Abuse and contemporary forms of slavery are rampant due to this problem but the media still incites hatred.  Employers have no need to accommodate job-seekers who don't even have a cell-phone or e-mail account.

Nope, the media will help you to believe that these people are all lazy losers, pond scum, entitlement brats, trailer trash and whatever other words they can use to imply sub-human parasite status so just don't you bother your brain about them because they aren't worth it.

HATE is a drug just like heroin and meth.  Don't take that drug.  JUST SAY NO!

Right-Wing Filmmaker Gives Away Bongs And Che Guevara Rolling Papers At Occupy Wall Street

M16,  OccupyOMC   Semper Occupare

"As you’ve all heard, one of our own was critically injured this week when police forcibly broke up an “Occupy Oakland” event. Scott Olsen did two tours in Iraq with the Marines, only to come home and have his skull fractured by a tear gas canister. While our prayers go out to Scott and the Olsen family, our task is to get organized.  With more and more veterans joining Occupy movements across the country, it is critically important that we form a visible, strong contingent of vets here in NYC. Occupy Wall Street offers us an unprecedented opportunity to highlight the economic struggles of returning veterans, while also uniting with labor, community organizations, students, and the rest of the 99%."

The "Occupy" movement has failed miserably. It didn't work for the hippies in the 60's and it wont work for you now. It is nice to feel like you are a part of something and that your voice matters. The reality however is that it doesn't. Did you really believe that change would come from these protests?

Lets go down the checklist -

Lying?   Yep.

Whore? Not literally, she'd be a viagra antidote, but in the sense of prostituting her integrity, yep.

Alzheimers? I don't think all the symptoms fit, but she definitely does have some sort of cognitive impairment.

So James, what exactly is your beef?

Well, at least it makes sense. Sort of.

It's  a good thing you fessed up and didn't let the blame fall on the young girl holding your drug induced creation of a sign. Peace man.

The Stunning Victory That Occupy Wall Street Has Already Achieved

"In just one month, the protesters have shifted the national dialogue from a relentless focus on the deficit to a discussion of the real issues facing Main Street: the lack of jobs -- and especially jobs with decent benefits -- spiraling inequality, cash-strapped American families' debt-loads, and the pernicious influence of money in politics that led us to this point."

Phoenix New Times shows by their attempt to get you to laugh at and marginalize the Occupy protestors that Phoenix New Times works for, and is beholden to, the 1 percent.  Phoenix New Times attempts to make light of and ridicule the Occupy movement is an attempt to sway public discourse, an attempt to get you the reader to laugh at and then dismiss the Occupy movement.  All of our local media that I know of has tried their best to give you permission to NOT THINK, and to NOT HEAR, about these things that are very important to most of us, the 99 percent.

"The defense contractors have realized that they can sell weapons and machinery and armory to civil forces in the US, and the heightened sort of culture of the war on terror has created a great excuse for the law enforcement to increase their budgets,” she claimed. “This is an example of how bought by hard and soft dollars, disloyal, incompetent and wasteful special interests have usurped our nation’s military power and have spawned a host of threats to liberty and to our national security.”OWS co-founder Alexa O'Brienhttp://poorrichards-blog....

Top Ten Richest Celebrities Supporting ‘Occupy Wall Street’

Of course this site has to point out the hypocrisy of it all using juvenile logic and has to characterize OWS protestors as anti-capitalist etc., which is not what they are saying at all.  Should it be called rogue capitalism?  The majority of the list were already well on their way to wealth and fame prior to the last 30 years of banksterism and hey, rather than being hypocrites as this rag chooses to pervert the nature of public discourse as well as malign the characters of any non-approved citizens that tries to participate - maybe they just want to give back?

Noam Chomsky's statement on the Wall Street protests

""Anyone with eyes open knows that the gangsterism of Wall Street — financial institutions generally — has caused severe damage to the people of the United States (and the world). And should also know that it has been doing so increasingly for over 30 years, as their power in the economy has radically increased, and with it their political power. That has set in motion a vicious cycle that has concentrated immense wealth, and with it political power, in a tiny sector of the population, a fraction of 1%, while the rest increasingly become what is sometimes called “a precariat” — seeking to survive in a precarious existence. They also carry out these ugly activities with almost complete impunity — not only too big to fail, but also “too big to jail.'

"The courageous and honorable protests underway in Wall Street should serve to bring this calamity to public attention, and to lead to dedicated efforts to overcome it and set the society on a more healthy course."

(personal email from Danny Garza, who has been on the ground of the Occupy Wall Street movement since day one. He has been in contact with Professor Chomsky and has updated him on all the actions of the Wall Street movement. The email Chomsky was sent to Garza, which we have here. After he read the letter at the General Assembly, Garza requested permission from Professor Chomsky to publish it on their website, which was granted. )"Read more: http://www.digitaljournal.com/...

Protesters Set Their Sights on Wal-Mart

http://www.truthdig.com/eartot...

"A 2004 report found that Wal-Mart sucks $1.5 billion from American taxpayers’ pockets annually to cover the cost of its workers’ needs for health care, food stamps and housing. Earlier this year, it escaped a class-action lawsuit raised by 1.5 million of its female workers who alleged they were the victims of sexual discrimination."

Yes, I was appalled to learn that Phoenix New Times owners acquired the Village Voice.  All these years later I am still appalled and hurt.  Back in the day the Village Voice was primo fantastic and never would have done to the occupiers what you have done.  Acquisition of the Village Voice by the owners of Phoenix New Times, to me, has always exemplified exactly what has been done to our nations' economy for the last 30 years - I can only explain with obscenities - how strongly I feel about it.  You have become the Walmart of journalism.  Your only redemption imho at this point in time is allowing me to comment.
