Has National Media Ignored Disappearance of Jahessye Shockley Because "She is a Little Black Kid?"

Does the national media not care about Jahessye Shockley because she's black?
The disappearance of 5-year-old Jahessye Shockley is now officially a race issue following some comments made by her grandmother, Shirley Johnson, yesterday.

Johnson's upset by the lack of coverage Shockley's disappearance has received in the national media -- all while the disappearance of a missing Kansas City girl, Lisa Irwin, is dominating the cable news networks.

Irwin happens to be a little white girl. Shockley is black, which is why Johnson thinks the national press isn't jumping on the story.

"It is because she is a little black kid," Johnson told reporters yesterday "Arizona is known for this."

Johnson may have a point, but there's a slight problem with her argument: Arizona news outlets are the only ones giving this story any attention at all. In fact, the majority of local news outlets have featured Shockley's disappearance on their websites (with the exception of the Arizona Republic) since she was first reported missing more than a week ago.

Arizona may not have the greatest history when it comes to its racial sensitivity (trying to cancel Martin Luther King Jr. Day certainly didn't help things), but any decision to ignore the disappearance of a black girl is being made by non-Arizonans.

That said, we want to know what you think: is the national media ignoring the disappearance of Jahessye Shockley because she's black?

Matrix abduction.  Quatuor Coronati/UK and Atramental Lodge 23/US.  1984 (13) miles dead center DC to abduction site.  Cartographic signature is 33/33/666.  Embedded Marvin Gaye.  CPS/local policing agency facilitated.  Cell phone stalking w/o mother's knowledge.  PATRIOT Act beta test the purpose of which is resourcing ritual sacrifice with products from the US.  It's completely legal under the PATRIOT Act.  Linked to Lisa Irwin and BDSM abductions of Holly Bobo, Brittanee Drexel, Lauren Spierer and Megan Maxwell.  OWS is cover for April 22 disclosure to TBI alleging involvement from Obama, Schwarzenegger and Soros.  UK reaction was Murdoch, Oslo/Utoya and the London Riots.  Again, the PATRIOT Act is being beta tested in the US to set a legal precedence for kidnapping for torture to resource ritual sacrifice iun the UK and Rome with living US "products".  Jahessye Shockley, Lisa Irwin, BDSM, all products under this horrific legislation.

Why aren't all the missing children in the world the front running story in every media outlet every day and every year?    Because it doesn't sell, it makes no money.   Many of these children, teens and adults are sold into slavery.  I suppose you believe that slavery has been done away with?    It's a multi trillion dollar business, protected by law enforcement, those in national governments and the media itself.   Sex sells and sex slavery sells the most.   People would be shocked if they were told the truth about how many people are missing each year.  The last time I commented on a missing person, all James King had to say was that there was no such thing as "go missing" as it was not proper grammar.  That's the caring media for you..in the pockets of those who are responsible for all the unknown barbaric crime on this planet.

You know what.. I would love to see any one of you try to find a missing child. The police do have compassion, and do care. Most humans have a heart. But finding a 5 year old in a huge city is not easy. It is not because she is black, it is not because she isnt rich, it is because it ISN'T EASY. I can understand the frustration, I can understand the anger, but what I cant understand, is that last night the Grandmother went on an interview, told the interviewer that she "has an idea of who might have taken Jahessye" WHAT?????? and then she said, " I will be alerting police in the morning" IN THE MORNING? Why are you waiting??? I would be on the phone the instant I had a feeling, or even an IDEA of who MIGHT have taken my baby. BUT you want police and the news to be covering it 24/7? The Grandmother has already said that finding Jahessye is not her "top priority" and that she is more concerned with getting the children back that were taken by CPS... THEY ARE SAFE, Jahessye may not be! Ridiculous.  This is not about race, this is about a missing baby who needs to come home, not about making her family famous.

I am in Indiana and I have heard about it.  What makes the grandmother think it's not gone national?

Forget about her color , find out who their connect is and you will find some answers. Those people look very suspicious to me. Why is the mother not out front in the news, what is she Hiding?

They know where she is at why all the drama somebody owed somebody ,I dont believe this was a random act it waS RETALIATION FOR something somebody owed.I feel very sorry for the girl being manipulated in this way ,the parents have some serious issues as does the grandmother. Thats what I think!!!!!

You are probably correct. They seem to be missing a few screws along with the poor girl. I suspect the mom though.

Look back at the number of missing children stories that have gotten national attention in the past decade.  How many can you recall that didn't feature a missing white girl?

Oddly, looking back, I only remeber seeing black children.... I can't even remeber hearing about a white child.

I think the lack of attention has less to do with racisim and more to do with attractiveness. The hag that speaks for the family was beat down bad with some fugly. Who wants that in their living room every night? If they could get Halle Berry to speak for them, the media would be all over it. By-the-way, the lady made a case that Arizona racisim is the cause of less media coverage. That would presume that the Arizona media is controlled by racists. And if true, what would that have to do with a lack of national media coverage?

No the family is right I watch the news when it comes to race yes the white missing people they get more attention than anything. You all watch the news yes you may have herd of the case about the little black girl one or two times but she is not all over national tv like the little white girl is .And yes race has everything to do with it.

It has more to do with the parents of Jess than because she is black.  Really hard to build a case of abduction when the Mother is a convicted child abuser and the Father of this one is a convicted pedophile! Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it was/IS only a matter of time before this beautiful little girl ended up missing (?) or dead or found sexually assaulted in one of Dad's friends houses. Really now - how much public sympathy ( which is what the Media relies upon) will this case get???/?????I feel awful for the children being raised in this situation for really THEY are the ones that are suffering and will suffer. Mom keeping a pedophile around her children is sickening!!

That's because the case with the Missouri girl is very suspicious and has Casey Anthony written all over it....the police don't have any good leads in the case of Jahesshey.....why would that make national news. Stop playing the race card.

If you don't like the truth then change it!  This child like the many other missing children of color deserve the same amount of media coverage and attention as any other missing white child.  It's so apparent that this is not the case.  If you don't agree then you don't follow the media! All life is precious and important.

unfortunately, I think it's prior behavior of the parents that is causing the media to ignore the case.  It seems fishy and they don't want to talk about the fishiness as that may seem insensitive.

I think the family has a lot of issues not the least of which is a long history of horrible child abuse. Why would the mother not be suspect??The grandmother was supposedly the one who called in family services on the mother of this little girl to begin with. Some times in these cases, it is hard to differentiate between family dysfunction, drama, a need for personal attention and sincere concern for the well-being of a child. I am from Georgia and I know all about the mother's history and I've seen the little girl's face on our news and on the net. If that isn't national attention, I don't know what is. People play the race card knowing without a doubt that media will jump on that faster than anything...

Some believe  you don't have to look futher than the parents of this child so get the answers to what happened to her. She wouldn't be the first parent to end a precious childs life & want someone else blamed for it.

I am from Michigan and I have heard of this missing little girl, if that helps any. I would certainly hope that the coverage of this case being slack is not because she happens to be a black child. No matter what color, race, or religion we are from we love our children the same as any other family. I happen to be a white person but I pray that she will be found safe and soon, I don't care what color she is.

The adults in this family are making this a race issue, not the police. The police department has been active on this case since it's inception and appear to still be actively involved. Yes, there is reason to suspect the family adults in the disappearance of this child. It appears the family adults are playing the spin game.

I don't know which is worse:  the police ignore the missing child?  or the police work very hard to charge the mother/parents?   I have never heard of any missing child case where any law enforcement people found and brought back the child.

Grammy, does the name Elizabeth Smart come to mind?

Candey811
Candey811

Well Elizabeth Smart was not returned due to searches made at the time of the disappearance.  99.999 percent of kids missing over 24 hours and not kidnapped by family are already dead.
