Jahessye Shockley, 5, was last seen at a Glendale Apartment Complex last night.
The Glendale Police Department has issued an Amber Alert for a 5-year-old girl who was last seen at an apartment complex near 6800 North 45th Avenue.

According to the Glendale P.D., the girl, Jahessye Shockley, wandered away from siblings a little before 5 p.m. yesterday and hasn't been seen since. Her mother returned home to the apartment and immediately called police when she noticed the 5-year-old was missing.

Initially, police said there were "no suspicious circumstances surrounding the child's disappearance." However, authorities got a tip that a 25 to 35-year-old African-American woman driving a 1998-2000 Chevrolet Malibu was seen in the area with a child fitting the description of Shockley.

According to the tipster, the woman was seen putting the child in the vehicle.

Shockley's described as a black female, approximately 3-foot-5, 55 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She has long hair that was in a ponytail at the time of her disappearance. She was last seen wearing a solid white T-shirt, blue jean shorts, and pink flip flops.

Authorities have deployed the Arizona Child Abduction Response Team, which includes the FBI, Chandler Police Department, and the Arizona Department of Public Safety, to help in the search for Shockley.

Additionally, authorities have checked with the girl's school classmates, paid a visit to known sex offenders in the area, and used police K-9 and bloodhounds to try and track down Shockley.

Authorities continue to search for the girl, but need the public's help in finding Shockley.

Anyone with information about Shockley's disappearance should call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000.

Praying for the family. All day long my friends and I have been in front of the television praying that this little girl is returned safely back home to her family. She is such a beautiful little girl and needs to be at home with her mom. Whoever has this baby, please take her home, to a police station, to a fire station, call 911 and tell them where she is. She is just a baby. She can't do or give you anything...just return her safely to her mom or to the authorities. Please. MJaay

Why bother posting, she is colored and nobody cares.

I am white & I CARE!  It doesn't matter what color, race, nationality, this is a missing child that needs to be at home with her loved ones!  Keep your hateful thoughts to yourself!  How would you like someone to say that if it was your child?
