Joe Arpaio Not Ruling Out Running For Senate (So He Says)

This guy has $6 million -- and is pretending to be considering a run for Senate.

Stop us if you've heard this one before, but Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he's not ruling out running for the Senate seat getting vacated by retiring Senator Jon Kyl -- which, if history tells us anything, is ~~complete bullshit~~ just another one of the sheriff's feeble cries for attention.

In the past, Arpaio has claimed to be considering running for governor on several occasions, and has even entertained the notion of a run for the White House. Each time, he never actually ran -- but the news cameras were rolling when he'd announce his decision.

~~When~~ If Arpaio doesn't run for Senate, he says he still wants to have an influence in national Congressional races, which is why he set up "JoePAC," a national political action committee set up to raise money for Joe-approved political candidates across the country.

"It seems that not a day goes by that local and national candidates for public office call the sheriff seeking his endorsement," says Chad Willems, the chairman of JoePAC. "The Sheriff has actively campaigned across the country to support candidates and causes. JoePAC will be just one more way they he can help elect good people to office."

The sheriff has been crowing lately about how GOP presidential candidates -- like Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, and Rick Perry -- have been puckering up to his ass with hopes he'll endorse their candidacies.

Like it or not, Arpaio's a pretty powerful guy.

There's some bad news for Scottsdale Lieutenant Mike Stauffer, Arpaio's opponent in next year's GOP primary for sheriff, too.

In the same announcement, Arpaio noted that he has a cool $6 million to spend on his own upcoming re-election campaign.

When asked if that makes him at all nervous, Stauffer tells New Times "I don't think Arpaio's $6 million is news. Since Arpaio has lost touch with reality and the voters, he must feel he needs the money to buy friends. I have absolutely no concerns, as money doesn't buy what the voter does in the booth. Additionally, much of the money he claims he has comes from those outside Maricopa County. I'm confident the residents of Maricopa County won't be making a fifth mistake."

Again, that $6 million will likely go towards the sheriff's upcoming re-election campaign...when he'll be 80 years old running for a job that -- at the very least -- requires him to live for at least four more years.

If Arpaio thinks he needs $6 million dollars to get re-elected, then this is just another SCREAMING red flag of how money means nothing to him in his capacity of sheriff other than it's someone else's money and a means to an end.

It's time for the voters to end this waste!

That 6 mil Rpiehole has in his war chest should be confiscated by the county as PARTIAL reimbursement for the millions his abuses have cost the county.If he wants to campaign, let him stick re-elect John ( the old fart can't remember his name) banner up his wazoo and do laps around tent city.

Joe Arpaio is a washed-up, has-been, senile old man who is so desperate for attention he announces, probably via Twitter, even though he says he's computer illiterate, that he is not ruling out running for U.S. Senate.

While the Flaccid Fool running for U.S. Senate would be a good thing for us poor folk here in Maricopa County, (the MCSO shurf would have to resign his position as head honcho of MCSO to actually run), his election to Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, would be even more detrimental to the citizens of the Arizona and the United States.

All Illegal aliens should be allowed to apply for work permits but only while they are outside the United States in their home countries. This type of program (guest workers) has worked very well for many years in economically successful places such as Switzerland, Singapore to name a few. Once their work visa expires they must immediately leave the country. If the females become prgnant, they are immediately returned to their home country. commit any violation of ANY law (even "J" walking) and they are deported. If they attempt to re-enter the US illegaly, they are automatically placed on a list of permanently banned from entry into the US. Are you with us?Just enforce the Immigration Laws and treat all people who want to enter the US fairly. Don't show preference to those that entered illegally. Justice for all? Or just some of the people wishing to come to the US?

Yes, Vince. I'm aware how long a senator serves in the United States. I think I made it fairly clear that under no circumstance do I see the sheriff running for Senate. I was referring to him running for sheriff.

The only way the Joe Show can make a dignified exit would be feet first. Personally I would rather see him walk away, handcuffed and head hung low as he exits via the gaunlet of shame.. a path that Thomas is currently on with his disembowelment (oops did it again) proceedings and of course Russell Pearce who is truly a pioneer.. the FIRST recalled Senator in Arizona history! Hey James, as a consulation prize, I think you should send each of them a pint container of Ben and Jerry's Schweddy Balls, as I'm sure theirs are.

Hopefully they'll catch up to him at Club Fed.. the feds are up his kiester ... To those who believe the federal charges against Arpiao were dropped ... don't hold your breath. While a couple of the lesser charges where dropped the real ball busters are still being investigated. With Burke having his own ass in a well deserved sling and fresh meat filling the seat maybe things will ramp up. And being a regular reader of this tabloid I recall mention of a lot of MIB looking individuals attending Thomas disembowelment (damn, I did it again, my spelling sucks!) proceedings.
