Rosanna Brown's heading to prison for 20 years.
Rosanna Brown, a former teacher at Ed Pastor Elementary School in Phoenix, was sentenced to some pretty lengthy prison time today after pleading guilty to charges that she tricked one of her 14-year-old students into having sex with her back in 2009.

As part her plea agreement, Brown pleaded guilty to one count of sexual conduct with a minor, and two counts of attempted molestation of a child in exchange for a 20-year prison sentence.

As the story goes, Brown posed as a high school cheerleader in text messages she and the boy exchanged for several days before he agreed to meet her at a hotel for a roll in the hay.

Thinking he was going to meet a hot, young cheerleader -- as opposed to his "pretty heavy," 49-year-old teacher -- the victim took a city bus to a Best Western hotel in Phoenix.

See New Times' original story on Brown here.

When he got to the hotel, Brown -- still posing as a young cheerleader -- told the boy to turn off the lights.

The two then had sex in the dark, again, the boy under the impression he was having sex with a young cheerleader.

At some point during the sexual rendezvous, the boy realized his "cheerleader" wasn't what she seemed -- as Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Lisa Allen told New Times at the time of Brown's arrest, she's "pretty heavy."

After realizing he was having sex with his 49-year-old teacher, the boy called his mom, who stormed down to the hotel to confront Brown. Brown, however, hid in the hotel bathroom.

MCSO deputies went to the scene arrested Brown and seized several items in the room, including a negligee.

In addition to the 20 years in prison, Brown will be placed on lifetime probation, and must register as a sex offender.

OK, I smell a rat. Howinthehell do you not know, even in the dark, that you are bumping uglies with a 200 pounder and not a lithe , nubile cheerleader? Sense of touch alone would clue you in, quick.

Sooooo very strange... This seems to be quite normal in the teaching profession however.

Judging by her picture and the fact she tricked the kid, she should get forty years in prison--poor kid.

But 20 years?   That's quite a plea deal.  What was the alternative, death by firing squad?    The whole story sounds like the boy was lying in order not to get in trouble with his mom.    Either that or he's mentally challenged.    The teacher was hard up and stupid if the story is true.

I for one am glad to see that sentences are getting harsher for women.  What this woman did was completely inappropriate and illegal no matter what she looks like.

No doubt she deserved some jail time, but 20 years ?

Fucking nuts.

From the male perspective, I have been at a loss as to how being "taken advantage of" by a teacher would harm a young man for life.  Of course, now that I read this story and see the pictures, I understand how a young man might be permanently damaged by this event.  Ick!

This kid definitely got in over his head.

I think he probably needed to nut before ratting. That is normally how we roll as dudes.

He was probably more interested in her touching him initially.  Then once he got past that he realized she probably wasn't a cheerleader.  This room had to have been blacked out not just dark for him to not notice.

True. She likely would have gotten no worse sentence if she had shot the kid.

20 years is repulsive...the judge should do time.

That's what I was thinking.  While this is bad, it doesn't have the lengthy degree of manipulation as Mrs Brock.  This lady was a one trick pony, once the gig is up, it's up.

Mrs. Brock showed a pattern of abuse in which she knew she was doing the wrong thing, yet manipulated everyone around her to continue to get her own way.

Once again whose in your pocket has a bigger baring on the outcome for the criminal as opposed to actual justice.
