District 6 GOP Congressional Primary: Kirk Adams or Matt Salmon?

congress.jpg
Former United States Congressman Matt Salmon and former Arizona House Speaker Kirk Adams are both eying the Congressional seat getting vacated by Congressman Jeff Flake, who is running for the Senate seat getting vacated by Senator Jon Kyl.

The two are both Republicans, both Mormon, and both have some big names giving political nods to their candidacies.

In Adams' corner are Kyl, and Congressman Ben Quayle -- each of whom are more moderate than some of their Congressional counterparts.

In Salmon's corner are Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and South Dakota Senator John Thune -- each of whom make reasonable Republicans look like assholes are much further to the right than Adams' supporters.

Salmon hasn't always shown the love to Arpaio, though. More on how Salmon doesn't like -- or respect -- Arpaio (a man he now considers a "tireless advocate for the safety of Maricopa County citizens for almost two decades") here.

Arizona's sixth is a stronghold for the GOP, so whomever wins the Republican primary will likely be representing the Grand Canyon State in Congress.

We want to know which candidate you'd prefer: Salmon or Adams?

There are two other people running for this office... why not add them to the poll also?

Adams. He's civil and he's principled even if you don't agree with him on everything.

Salmon is one VERY slippery fish ... talks a fiscally conservative free-market game by day, broker crony capitalist arrangements for special interests by night.  Will literally say, do, be, anything in order to pander for votes.  No thanks.

Matt Salmon is a totally compromised lobbyist mercenary who will say just about anything and climb in bed with just about anyone to get elected.  Before his moral compass got demagnetized, he used to say things like, "Joe Arpaio isn't playing with a full deck.  I don't respect him."  Now Salmon is trying to ride the "I hate Mexicans" train into office, and has his lips planted firmly on Arpaio's and Pearce's butt cheeks.  He endorsed John McCain for senate over JD Hayworth--a sane decision--but then tries to don his foil hat and act like he hates McCain in order to court the Tea Party.  Who knows what Salmon actually thinks or believes anymore....the man is willing to say whatever he thinks the people around him at the moment want to hear.

When are the people going to wake up and realize that Az has become a Theocracy. When people will only vote for somebody of a certain "Faith?", it amounts to faith based bigotry. I wouldnt vote for either one of these "Conservative Christians" weather they are  Dem or Rep.

Apparently, the concept of "Separation of Church and State" does not apply here.

I wasn't aware that the separation concept only applied in certain districts.

Salmon = hired gun, sellout to the highest bidderAdams = take a tough stance, make decisions and lead AZ into the future

The choice is clear - old vs. new, sellout vs. problem solver, yesterday vs. the future.
