Cops Use Police Dog to Subdue Sword-Wielding Face-Tattooed Felon

Albert Tejada -- and his face tattoos.
Despite having a samurai sword in his possession at the time, convicted felon Albert Tejada, 31, lost a fight with a dog Monday morning.

In all fairness to Tejada, it was a police K-9 dog, and he was running from authorities at the time, but the guy still brought a friggin' samurai sword to a dog fight and lost.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, Tejada was driving near 1st Street and Jimmie Kerr Boulevard in Casa Grande about 10:30 Monday morning when he was stopped by a sheriff's deputy for a routine traffic stop.

At first, Tejada seemed cooperative -- he pulled over to the side of the road and appeared to be willing to speak with the deputy.

However, when the deputy approached the car on foot, Tejada took off.

The deputy got back into his cruiser and gave chase, but abandoned the pursuit when Tejada entered a residential neighborhood.

Because of his dopey face tattoos (which are obvious in the above booking photo), Tejada was easily identified by authorities through Motor Vehicle Department records and photos.

Also because of his dopey face tattoos, police easily spotted him shortly after the car chase as he was walking down the street near Cameron Avenue and 2nd Street.

When police caught up with him, Tejada was carrying a duffle bag with a samurai sword sticking out of it.

PCSO spokesman Elias Johnson tells New Times Tejada never threatened deputies with the sword, but he refused to put it down.

That's when they called in the police pooch, who attacked the sword-wielding felon and got him to submit to deputies "immediately."

Tejada was booked into the Pinal County jail on one count of felony flight from pursuing law enforcement vehicle, and one count of misconduct with a weapon by a prohibited possessor.

Moral of story: don't bring a samurai sword to a dog fight (unless you're prepared to use it), and don't get tattoos on your face.
