Arizona Dems on GOP Presidential Debate: Can Arizona's Tea Party Top Booing a Gay Soldier?

Take your best shot, Arizona GOPers.
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer announced yesterday that CNN will produce a "major" debate in Arizona between GOP presidential candidates.

Jan's "thrilled."

"I've been in politics a long time, but I can't remember a more critical election than this," she says. "When it comes to some of the hallmark issues facing our country - whether illegal immigration, the housing crisis or the ongoing power struggle between the states and federal government - Arizona is at the forefront. These are national issues, certainly. But Arizonans live and breathe them."

Arizona Democrats are less enthusiastic about bringing the likes of Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, and Mitt Romney to the Grand Canyon State to duke it out in a debate.

"If the recent presidential debates have proved anything, it's that out-of-touch, tone-deaf behavior is alive and well in the Republican Party," Arizona Democratic Party Executive Director Luis Heredia says. "We look forward to seeing how Arizona's Tea Party can possibly top booing a member of the military."

Heredia, obviously, is referring to a recent GOP presidential debate in Florida where Stephen Hill, a gay soldier serving in Iraq, asked Rick Santorum whether he'd circumvent the progress that's been made for gay soldiers in the military with the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. Hill was then booed by the Tea Party audience. Check out some video here.

Given Arizona's particular breed of far-right-wing-nut GOPer, we have faith the state's Tea Party can definitely top the amateurs in Florida.

Is this law Racist? Does it specify brown people? Are the people who agree with this law racist? Are those who want this law enforced racist? The law says nothing of little "brown" people but it explains what is illegal entry. It's not very hard to understand. Why is this law "broken"? Why can it be selectively ignored?Illegal alien includes all people who entered illegally, could be Croation, Russian, Chinese, Irish, Canadians and yes even Mexicans. No one single race or people is referenced in the law. Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact; has committed a federal crime.Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense. These people cost Pheonix and surrounding cities hundreds of millions to support the education, health and welfare of these illegal immigrants. A landscape worker paid by cash (no taxes) and his wife (a stay at home mom), have been here for 16 years and had 7 children born in the US. Who do you think paid for her medical bills???

I've always wished we lived in a country with a police presence on every corner pulling every car aside for the slights infraction and then arresting american citizens without warrant.

Can you imagine such a wonderful world! I hope they continue to bring it upon us!

I am a leader of the protestors and I can tell you we all know very well that illegal is illegal, but we are trying to use the issue as leverage to get pro-minority candidates elected. We are just looking to increase benefits and entitlements for our brown and black brothers. You know, squeaky well gets the grease... We know it will eventually destroy America but we try not to think that far out. Seems to be working...

How directionally contradictory!

Can Arizona top rock bottom? Will the Methlab of Democracy rise to the challenge of sinking lower than low? Will the sandbillies, methheads, tea-party loonies and neo-nazi nativists that established Arizona's reputation as "Alabama in the desert" take high points for reaching even deeper depths of depravity?

The smart money says "Yes!"

This Misterleely person has more than likely been on Government handouts its entire life and is looking for more. Republicans in power mean a sharp decrease in Mistralee's income so it fights as hard as it can to defend its piece of the dole. Having nothing to do all day Mistaleak has devolved into a heap of hate. My prognosis is not good. This is the type of liberal that turns into a Jared Loughner; it may lash out at other liberals who aren't as militant in their views. I would encourge Mistaly to seek help as soon as possible.

I was asked by fellow liberals to evaluate Mistalee comments in an unbiased manner. After reading its posts I would classify its behaviour as what is commonly know as "retarded" rather than clinical. While Mistalee is probably an embarassment to everyone that it knows, it is most likely harmless. However, I too would recommend that mistalee be evaluated by a specialist as soon as practical should mistaleee be able to arrange for some handout type health care, steal some money, or if Obama can get free health care enacted.

I wonder why you don't leave already. Stop bitching and pack up and get the F out. Move to San Fran where you can be with your liberal friends and live in harmony forever. We don't want you here - know that - we don't want you and never did.

That piece of dung misterly shadeux or whatever his panhandle name is only has a hobo scarve with his nasty trash leftovers in it. It stays packed as it roams the street looking for handouts.

You obviously have me confused with somebody who gives a shit what you want.

Shouldn't you be out stealing checks from mailboxes to support your meth habit? Or posing for your "people of Walmart" photo?

" the ongoing power struggle between the states and federal government - Arizona is at the forefront. These are national issues, certainly. But Arizonans live and breathe them."

Dear Jan,

ARE YOU SHITTING ME?????????????????????????????????????????????

Are you perhaps referring to the people who are obeying (or at least would like to if you weren't such A GODDAMN HYPOCRITE ) the medical marijuana law?

You don't have scorpions for breakfast but you do have the morals of a scorpion.

Let's see... the headline leads one to believe that the Tea Party attacks normal soldiers. Then, deep in the article you let us in on the secret that this soldier is a gaylord. Why not put the gay part in the headline? Do you have something against gays? Or do you have something against the Tea Party? Yes, I think we know the answer, but it's still bait and switch. Poor journalistic ethics... but I guess I shouldn't be looking for journalism here anyways.

I have something against the Tea Party. They are some of the most ignorant fucktards on the planet. They actually succeed in making the rest of Arizona look smart by comparison.

Hey Marty

I would love to hear a debate with nothing but you homophobic tea baggers in the audience. It would assure that none of the candidates could use big words.

I also think it would be a perfect place for an audience full of LGBTs to excercise their first amendment rights. You know, the rights you throwbacks would like to take away from them. (At least until Bachman and her hubby can CURE them)

MulletMarty

Why do you hate so much? Why do you claim I am homophobic? Why do you claim I am a "tea bagger"? You have sooo much hatred it is disturbing. Go see a shrink.

Fistalee, you are just like every person I have ever seen on TV who has lived on welfare and food stamps their entire lives.

Wow. Feel the hatred dripping from you words. Mmmm. And you just sucked me off too? Wow, did it taste bad or what?

You remind me of every trailerpark meth-head asshole I've ever met. Can't wait to read about you in the PNT, when you set your trailer on fire or get caught fucking your granddaughter.

You remind me of Jared Loughner. You need help. Seek help before you harm someone or yourself... again. But thanks to the writer for updating the title. Good job.

Mulletmarty,

First off only a moron would incorporate the word "mullet" in their nick.

Second, anyone that uses the word "gaylord" is exhibiting homophobic behavior as well as that of a "nerd" that hasn't even touched the private parts of the opposite sex.

Three, physician heal thyself. If you had any objectivity you would see that it is you that needs psychiatric help.

A couple things I'd like to see take place...

A question posed regarding homosexuals in the military...but do it the way MSNBC did it with the border fence question; bring out Mr Hill to ask the question.

My guess is that the Baggers in the audience won't have the balls to boo when they see him.  And half of them will probably try to hook up with him afterwards.

Then another question along the lines of the the one posed to Ron Paul about insurance and "letting people die".

But pack the audience with half of Sun City.Well, that will probably happen anyways but....

Will they be checking for padlocks at the door?

Welcome to AZ GOP Debate!  Our GOP Sheriff has been under federal investigation for over 1000 days,Our GOP Senate Majority Leader had to step down this year domestic violence and using his political leverage to try to escape charges,And as of November 4th our GOP Senate President has been recalled due to corruption, fraud, ties to Neo-Nazis, and total lack of integrity and ethics!
