Arizona Cardinals' Defense Awful in One-Point Loss to Washington Redskins

​There's good news and bad news following the Arizona Cardinals 22-21 loss to the Washington Redskins last night.

The good news: after two games, Kevin Kolb seems like a legitimate quarterback. The bad news: the Cards' defense is embarrassing.

The Cardinals defense gave up 455 yards in the loss, bringing its total to 932 two games into the season. Worse than the yardage is the fact that much of it came when it really mattered -- like when the Cards were up 14-10 heading into the fourth quarter and the Redskins managed to score on every possession for the remainder of the game.

The Cardinals secondary managed to pick off Washington quarterback Rex Grossman twice, but that's about the extent of defensive achievements in yesterday's game -- and keep in mind, it was Rex Grossman.

The offense was slightly more impressive.

Kolb threw for a total of 251 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, earning him a respectable QB rating of 92.5.

Kolb hooked up with wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald seven times, including a late-game 73-yard touchdown pass to put the Cardinals up 21-13 early in the fourth quarter.

Running back Beanie Wells managed 93 yards on 14 carries in the loss.

Leading 21-19 with 1:45 to play in the fourth quarter, the Cards gave up a 34-yard field goal, putting the 'Skins up by one.

With time on the clock to mount a game-winning drive, Cardinals wide receiver Chansi Stuckey fumbled, putting the final nail in the Cardinals' coffin.
