Joe Arpaio-Endorsed Matt Salmon on Joe Arpaio: "I Don't Respect Him. I Don't Think He's Playing with a Full Deck."

Matt Salmon on Joe Arpaio: "I don't respect him. I don't think he's playing with a full deck."
Yesterday, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio penned a gushing, illegal immigrant-themed endorsement for District 6 Congressional candidate Matt Salmon. Salmon responded with a glowing review of the sheriff's job performance -- which is a far cry from what former Congressman Salmon had to say about America's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff" a few years ago.

In a 2005 New Times article, written by former NT scribe John Dougherty, when asked about Arpaio, Salmon said the following: "I don't respect him. I don't think he's playing with a full deck."

Arpaio must have found those missing cards, because yesterday, Salmon said the following:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been a tireless advocate for the safety of Maricopa County citizens for almost two decades. He understands how important it is to protect our national borders against illegal immigration and he knows I will make that a top priority in Washington. I am grateful for his confidence in my ability to represent the best interests of our communities.

Meanwhile, when Salmon ran for governor in 2002, his "tireless advocate for the safety of Maricopa County citizens," good ol' "Sheriff Joe," backed his Democratic opponent, Janet Napolitano, which "ensured" her election.

Apparently, nothing heals old wounds like illegals and egos, because Arpaio has nothing but kind words for the man who once backed his former opponent, Dan Saban.

Straight from the sheriff's lips:

I am honored to support my good friend Matt Salmon in his bid to return to Congress. Having worked extensively with Matt in the past, I know I can count on him to protect the interests of our community and our state, especially when it deals with securing our borders.  Now more than ever, Washington requires experienced and principled conservatives in Congress - Matt Salmon exemplifies these qualities to the highest degree.

Get a room, fellas.

We contacted both Salmon's campaign and the sheriff's office for comment late last night. Neither immediately got back to us. Check back later today for updates.

Arpaio doesn't play nice or forget grievances much, in fact Arpaio whines at the slightest slight (like when he was "uninvited" to read to school children)...wonder what Chuck Coughlin put on the table for Arpaio in order to get him to forgive Salmon for not only slamming him, but gasp, Salmon's support of Dan Saban!

Another example of dirty, thug politics at work and alive in Arizona!

LMAO... I thought the voters of Arizona booted Salmon's political career down the turnpike years ago.  Typical Republican Ploy, take a disgraced politician, wait a few years until they THINK people have forgotten.  Then dust him off and throw him back in the ring.  We should make sure as a voting public that Salmon never makes it out of his corner.  A challenge to the NEWTIMES... go back in the PUBLIC records and remind people WHY Salmon was kicked to the curb.

Absolutely New Times, we don't need another Brewer, Pearce or Arpaio. We have enough racist bigots in office already.

Arpaio ???A tireless advocate for the safety of Maricopa County citizens !!!Since when does shilling for the TV cameras promote public safety ?

Mr. Salmon is back on Crack with that remark.

But at least he got in a couple of "hatin the beaners" comments.

Don't use such big words Mistalee, The cons will think you're criticizing them for the kind of fertilizer they use, although I'm sure that Joel Fox and his bitch know just what it means.

I wouldn't vote for anyone Bozo Joe endorses, all it means to me is one corrupt dirtbag endorsing another corrupt dirtbag.

Talk about a couple political whores... I can imagine their most recent discussion went something like this, "I'll pick your nose if you pick mine"....

These two are PRIME examples of Arizona Republican Party ideals.

They are nothing more than publicly disgusting primates.

Remember when arpaio endorsed napolitano? I do. Nothing more confusing than that one, unless you know the motives on both sides...

Tommy you never fail to crack me up.  I love the way you think and share.

Thanks, I think. When the current bag of Republican tricks goes away I will be reduced to writing about lovely sunsets on the western horizon and the flowing flight of Harris hawks in the desert... In the mean time this bunch of dipwicks provides plenty of fodder for me to wax on about...

I haven't been working on writing about sunsets just yet. Your point is valid...

I wouldn't count on them going away any time soon. At least until all the "Dipwicks" who elected them time and time again, have either died or been committed.

So all it took to cure their old wounds that was once laced with salt:

"Illegals and egos".

"Illegal and egos" is what can keep the GOPsuckers together.

Good record keeping NT.  Rub all these inconsistencies in their faces.  But do the same to both ends of the political spectrum.
