Arizona Prison Inmate Hit by Truck Identified as Cary Allan, Serving 27-Month Sentence for Credit-Card Fraud

A repeat customer of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Allan's current prison stint is a 27-month sentence for credit-card fraud out of Maricopa County.
DOC spokesman Barrett Marson tells New Times that as of a few hours ago, Allan was still alive.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves, Allan was on a work detail picking up trash in the emergency shoulder of the freeway when the wind carried the bag he was using into the westbound lane of the highway.
Allan, Graves says, chased after the bag and was hit by a truck carrying a horse trailer.
He taken to a hospital in extremely serious condition.
According to court records, Allan has two prior felony convictions dating back to 1994.
