Details are emerging about this morning's shootings in Yuma that have left at least five people -- and potentially the shooter -- dead.

Clint Norred, Yuma police spokesman, didn't immediately get back to us this afternoon, but tells the Yuma Sun the shootings happened at different locations throughout the city and county and appear to be related.

From the Sun:

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office was called to the first scene this morning, when the body of a woman was found in a yard at Avenue 35-1/2E and Old Highway 80. Initial reports on the police scanner said the woman may have suffered a gunshot wound.

Then, around 9:21 a.m., the Yuma Police Department responded to a shooting in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue in Yuma.

According to police scanner traffic, two more shootings were then reported in the Wellton area, followed by a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound near Blaisdell off Highway 95. The Yuma Sun has not been able to confirm the location of the sixth shooting.

One of those killed is an attorney identified by other local attorneys as Jerrold Shelley, although, Norred would not confirm the identity of the victims.

Norred also wouldn't confirm whether the suspect was dead or alive. However, conversations picked up over the police scanner indicated the suspect had killed himself.

Check back for updates as the story unfolds.

What a way to push your book Dan.   This sounds like a classic execution where the shooter gets killed to close the trail.    No one to talk about who ordered it.    I know, it sounds like a CIA novel.    But the killings except for the attorney will seem random and psychotic.   Perhaps one of the "unimportant" killings was the actual execution and the attorney was thrown in to draw attention away from it.     I suppose someone will tell me how wrong and stupid I am.    I know my fellow opinion makers.

LawlessnessLeads to Anarchy. This country has been on a downward spiral of lawlessness forsome time now...We all know that a boiler that has too much pressure willeventually explode. Let me suggest that this country has lost its way and arechurning out citizens who expect everything to be handed to them on a silverplatter with little or no work. They expect to be treated with honor andrespect when they have never been taught how to give it. They look at all thatthe world has to offer and if they don’t get it then the pressure begins tobuild. Or if someone attempts to take away what they do have then the pressurecontinues to build to unsafe limits. Unfortunately most people in this countrywould be horrified to lose all of their material possessions, because theycannot separate their life from them. Add to this the moral decline and thetotal disregard for the law and you have a recipe for disaster. Posted by Rev.Daniel W. Blair, Author of Final Warning

Hey Rev Rend Dumb Ass, You might want to check the age of the shooter before you spew your  fear and hate.  It seems it was someone from your era that got tired of all the lies being spewed by false prophets like yourself.  Science, Vetting thousands of false prophets everyday..

I have a hard time taking moral guidance from someone in an occupation where pederasty is so common.

Stop with the "churning out citizens who expect everything to be handed to them on a silverplatter with little or no work" krap. Big surprise. You are a minister and you don't follow the example of Jesus.
