Rob Haney, Maricopa County Republican Party Chair, Worries That Sheriff Arpaio's Being Unfairly Criticized by "Libs"

robhaney.jpg
Rob Haney, chair of the Maricopa County Republican Party, fears that crazy "libs" have been overly critical of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Somebody get this guy his reading glasses.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio's under attack by crazy "big government libs" and needs your support.

This according to the bizarre worldview of Rob Haney, chair of the Maricopa County Republican Party. He feels so bad for Sheriff Joe Arpaio and three other conservative leaders who have taken criticism lately that he's organized a rally to support them on Thursday.

Seems like nobody told Haney that Arpaio's main problem right now isn't "libs." It's the corruption within his office that's being exposed by his own staff.

But Arpaio's name still brings money into the Party treasury and the sheriff is locking up "illegals" -- and that's clearly what counts for blindly loyal supporters like Haney.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu's theory, that Arpaio was "deceived" by his chief deputy (see photo illustration above), at least tries to fit the facts. Babeu's wrong, but Haney's take -- that Arpaio's critics are crazy "libs" -- must have been brought to Earth by a UFO from Planet Whitewash.

I lean very independent these days because the Law and Order Republican party too often condones law breaking by Republican politicians, even honors them.

I may come back when the party starts finding honest people to run under the GOP mantra.

Anti Arpaio and Anti Pearce Facebook pages have been notified... there MIGHT be a great counter-demonstration.  If you want to protest Arpaio and Pearce, show up!  I will be there!

And don't forget to go to the online poll and let Mr. Hiney know how you feel about Arpaio.  Click on the red "rally to support them" above in the text.  The poll is on the right side of the page.

His name is Rob Haney?  Why did I think it was Red Hiney?

Tommy and Rob - I was thinking of showing up myself.  I've never spied on a Klan rally before...

Unfortunately, Haney is the kind of ass wipe that the older voters listen to.   They can't believe that corruption could ever exist at such a level and besides that, Joe put those damn illegals that were working at that Chinese restaurant in jail didn't he?       Haney, you are either the biggest fool in this county or just as corrupt as your boy Joe.     I vote for # 2.

I'm planning to be there. I will be the old white guy with grey hair..

Arpaio knew full well about the child sex crimies in El Mirage.  It was in plenty of printed news at the time.  I believe that Arpaio knew about and by doing nothing about it, raped these kids a second time.

Libs ought to be down on him.  Of course, Conservatives should be down on him too.

Mr. Haney is nothing more than a classic simple wing-nut, as T.C. noted, would make a great "Goober" character. He certainly has the face for it--harmless and funny. Folks with a clear conscience shouldn't take him seriously.

I hold a lot of conservative values and opinions.  But, I did leave the Republican party several years ago and am now an Independent.  Good to see that the head of the party in AZ is doing his best to sway voters to their side by calling those who disagree with them on Arpaio "Libs".

It's also a great way to reach out to those record numbers of former Dems who are now Indies, too.

So Rob, if you're so interested in honest governance and open government, you would have no problem them with Russell Pearce and his outright failure to report his dealings with the Fiesta Bowl as well as the corruption presented in the Pinal County Sheriffs investigation?

You sir are a pompous party hack. Your opinion is like my asshole: it stinks.

Well, Mr. Haney has certainly demonstrated he is a Republican party ho. I find it interesting he refers to "recall madness" and includes the MCSO shurf, Kavanaugh, and Sal Diciccio on the list. Apparently he is afraid other recalls will follow once the pearce recall is filed and successful.

It appears Mr. Haney could be a character actor on the Andy Griffith show. They need someone to replace Goober... and Mrs. Brewer is the wrong gender....

Which, reminds me, why isn't Mrs. Brewer on the list for support?

There is also a recall petition out there for her. Maybe she has crossed paths with Mr. Haney and no longer deemed worthy, eh?

Guide to being a Republican in the U.S. today:

1.) Identify one or more groups to scapegoat2.) Blame everything negative that occurs on said groups3.) If any issues can't be directly blamed on said groups, keep trying4.) If issues still cannot be blamed on group, ignore issue completely5.) Repeat

["Why did I think it was Red Hiney?"]

I don't know, Liz. Maybe due to the abrasions left due to his 'man to man' activity with pearce and company?

I will be there with my small video camera, working undercover, so to speak. "Speak into my pen, Mr. Haney, please"....

But, we have to watch for MCSO (working in Phoenix?). They seem to routinely take video cameras as 'evidence'. Shades of Joe Sousa and Company.

You should have no problems blending in, my friend:

1.) You're a White female.2.) 50 and plus.

I on the other hand, cannot. I'm too obvious, young and may stand out easily. I think T.C. knows why.

I'm going too Tommy...camera in hand. I'd say I'll look for an old guy with grey hair but I suspect there will be a sea of that.

Hopefully the politicians and public figures that show up in support of this fool will be there and we can take note.

I seem to recall an effort pushed by the right to recall Clarence Dupnik.  Just for his comments after the Giffords shooting.  Yep....distinctly recall Russell Pearce bloviating wtih Bill O'Reilly on his show that they should "easily be able to get this guy out".

Maybe they're just upset that their effort went down like a lead balloon?

Rob, you missed step 6. "Take free trip on the Fiesta Bowl gravy train".
