Munnell Memo Report to be Released Today; Sheriffs Arpaio and Babeu Schedule News Conferences
![]() |
The docs we received last week, we found out today, weren't part of the 1,022-page summary report that's been sort of advertised by officials with the Maricopa and Pinal sheriff's offices -- they're part of the 20,000 pages of supplemental records that back up the summary report. Flipping through today's release of 221 pages of that 20,000, we see that it begins with a 63-page transcript of an interview with Sheriff Joe Arpaio's fired chief deputy, Dave Hendershott. Should be interesting reading.
Arpaio plans to hold a news conference at 1 p.m. today to talk about the summary report; we plan to attend both that and the 3 p.m. news conference by Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu on the same subject. Babeu, of course, conducted the internal review of Hendershott and other high-ranking officials under Arpaio.
UPDATE: Read our updates on the news conferences.
