If You Were Sucker Punched by an ASU Wrestler, University Police Would Like to Have a Chat

If you're this guy, ASU police want to talk to you.
Authorities say the most serious offense with which they can charge two members of the Arizona State University wrestling team, seen attacking a man during the school's annual "undie run," is disorderly conduct. The problem: they can't find the potential victim.

ASU police Commander James Hardina tells New Times that the wrestlers claim the attack on the mystery victim was self defense, and unless authorities have someone to tell them otherwise, the only crime with which they can be charged is disorderly conduct for fighting in public.

See video of the wrestlers (ahem) defending themselves below.

The shirtless men circling the guy in the blue shirt like a pack of hyenas are ASU junior Te Edwards, and freshman Carlos Castro, both of whom (as you can see by clicking their names) are were ASU wrestlers.

For two guys who claim to be defending themselves, they don't appear to do much to remove themselves from the situation -- taking four steps to sucker-punch a guy when he's not looking certainly doesn't help their case.

Edwards declined New Times invitation to tell his side of the story, saying "the media is just gonna twist my words around and make me look like some high strung bully when they don't even know the whole story."

As far as looking like a "high-strung bully" goes, the video speaks for itself.

If you're the person seen in the video getting sucker punched by Edwards, or you know who he is, you're asked to call the ASU Police Department at 480-965-2797.

Typical punks engaging in group animalistic behavior (see Lord of the flys). They should be kicked out of the wrestling program based on code of conduct.  They were in no way engaged in defending themselves but were clearly aggressors.

Aren't these Newtimes' base? The same "caring" individuals that are for "peace" and "equality" and is the first to gang up on someone not like them. This is what your group mentality looks like to everyone not in your leftist mindset.

You're assumptions and speculation carry no weight, as it is purely speculation. Using your logic, I could say all republicans/teaparty folk. yes there is very little difference; are all represented by the guy who spit on the congressman outside of the capital during a purely symbolic protest. The difference here are, the man spitting and his peers are fully grown adults, and have been for some time. However, the students in this video are just that, and clearly immature, perhaps they have been looking up to those unruly adults as role models. Alas, I digress, as that last part of my statement was purely speculation, weird how that happens.Good day Jas, and remember, don't spend too much time looking for the political attributes in everyones individual actions; there is more to life than that. :)

First you have a fucking douchebag sucker punch somebody. Then the crowd goes wild and starts chanting "ASU! ASU!"  That's all you need to know about that institution of higher learning.

If your child is an animal who ought to be living in a cage, drop a dime and send them to jail before sending them to ASU. It's less socially humiliating for you.

They don't look concerned about their personal safety. In fact, they are pressing the attack.

My impression is that they have done this before, probably somewhere near Mill Ave, around 2am on a weekend. Their schoolmates are no better. I see little attempt to restrain them or break this up.

Agree with Mr. Marley. The kids that are considered monsters for shooting up a school are the same kids that everyone torments. I'm sure the victim is afraid to step forward because he's afraid of it backfiring and his peers calling him a snitch or a pussy. I hope he knows that his peers are the either the kind of people that sucker-punch kids, or the kind that would stand behind him. Listen to ones who stand behind you and fuck the rest.

P.S. - If you sucker punch a kid while in your boxers AND grope dudes as an extracurricular activity, you're an aggressive bitch. I wish your boyfriend would put you in your place.

People wonder why a person would shoot up a school.  Open your eyes people, its people like these two that put others in danger.
