Border Agents Killed by Train Were Tracking "Drug Traffickers," According to AG Tom Horne -- Which is News to Border Patrol Authorities

Tom Horne apparently knows something Border Patrol doesn't.
Two Border Patrol agents were killed this morning when their unmarked SUV was hit by a train near Gila Bend, and Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne already is implicating illegal drug traffickers in their death.

Either Horne knows something Border Patrol authorities don't, or he just assumes every illegal immigrant walking through the desert is selling drugs.

Horne's office released a statement this morning saying, "I am terribly saddened by the news of the deaths of two Border Patrol agents who were killed when their vehicle collided with a train near Gila Bend. These agents were pursuing suspected drug traffickers at the time of the accident and they died doing their job to protect U.S.citizens."

Slow down, Horney -- we spoke with Border Patrol Agent Kenneth Quillin this morning who says they don't yet know if the people being pursued by the agents were "drug traffickers." He says all agents know at this point is that it was a "group" of people.

A spokesman for Horne, however, insists to New Times that "from what we understand," the agents were pursuing drug traffickers.

Not that it makes a huge difference -- two border agents were killed doing their job. But when trying to fuel the inferno that is the debate over illegal immigration, "drug traffickers" is much sexier terminology than "group of people wandering through the desert in search of a better life."

The cause of the wreck is still unclear. The FBI is investigating, and Agent Quillin would not speculate as to whether the agents were trying to beat the train across the tracks while pursuing this "group" and tragically lost the race.

Check back for updates.

Somebody will need to inform Mrs. Brewer, and the Flaccid Fool, that the BORDER PATROL - a Federal immigration agency, was DOING IT'S JOB when these two officers were killed, each leaving behind a wife and two children.

So, apparently it's NOT JUST ARIZONA doing border enforcement after all. Might it be that Mrs. Brewer and the Flaccid Fool have been untruthful with us all along?

Do ya think?

It's a dichotomy.

Who is the biggest liar, I wonder?

The shurf who told Horne that they were chasing drug traffickers?

Mr. Horne, who simply made it up?

Life can be such a mystery...

Governor Pearce told him to say that....

James, thanks for most importantly, pointing out to Mr. Horne, and also to us, that an ace should be called an ace, and a spade called a spade.

Horne is in office now to do the job of AG, not to constantly be "posturing" himself politically.

I'm so tired of politicians putting their jobs second and looking to spin whatever situation they can for their own political gain first and foremost.

Trains don't kill people...
Trains don't kill people...

Even a used Yugo salesman on Van Buren is regarded as more trustworthy and more credible than any of the shills of humanity who proclaim themselves worthy of running a government at any level. They are all liars, swindlers, manipulators, thieves, and opportunists. If any of the dorks had any skills or talent they'd have gotten work in an honorable profession like mechanic, school teacher, pilot, or construction.assembly. But in the absence of any functional brain activity, they do what any average five year old would do. Steal shit when no one's looking; tell implausible lies when caught, and then pout and stomp around crying "you don't love me !!!"

Well, no we don't.

Why would you be surprised that Tom Horne ( me so horney ) is any different... some two bit school superintendant from Haterville ( not to be confused with Hooterville ).has learned by observation. If that god-forsaken train wreck of a governor can get elected by pumping air up everyone's ass about an ethnic division she has no familiarity with, using manufactured statistics, fabricated data and malevolent lies that anyone with an IQ above 55 could see through, well, hell, let's stick with what works, right Tommy ? This is Arizona, goddamn it, where human stupid is not optional, it's mandated.

Just like all Black folks are Crackheads... all Mexicans are drug smugglers.Right, Tommy. Fucken-eh right...

How the hell does one run into a freight train in the desert ??? They had a 4X4 which I would think could cross R/R tracks with ease, but not with a speeding train on them. And if these desert interlopers - whoever they are - get caught, they won't be deported. They will be prosecuted for capital murder, as their actions during the commission of a felony caused the deaths of two state cops, never mind the incidental fact of the cops driving on a train's right-of-way.

BUT YOU GO, TOMMY... YOU DO THE SAME AS JAN BREWER DONE DID TO GET ELECTED. CREATE A BOOGEYMAN. TELL LIES TO SCARE THE PUBLIC IMBECILES INTO SUBMISSION. AND DO NOT LET THOSE LIES COOL OFF FOR A SECOND.Oh yeah, stay off the fucking train tracks, eh !!!

At this point, it doesn't matter if they were killed tracking drug traffickers, a group of first graders on a field trip, or the late great Bin Laden himself, THEY GOT HIT BY A TRAIN. The legal status of the person they were tracking doesn't matter. What matters is that they were obviously breaking laws and regulations themselves and thought they could beat a train. Anybody else, and they would be called 'stupid' for the exact same thing.

"How did they break the law by trying to beat the train?"

Usually failure to stop at a railroad crossing is against the law, especially if it happened to be a crossing with lights and markers. Racing to beat a train is considered to be even more dangerous, and an even worse offense.

I agree with you, maybe the Border Patrol can offer these guys whomever they are a job with the BP, they obviously outsmarted the 2 patrolmen, they made Darwin proud, survival of the fittest at its best. later when they get old, fat, and senile they would qualify to work for MCSO, the old fool would make them top dogs and run the agency for him. hehe.

Ummm.... as much as I appreciate the wit and wisdom of your post, if you could refrain from referring to Mr. Horne as "Tommy" I sure would appreciate it.

Thats funny, the FBI and Border Patrol are still investigating the accident and have not concluded their investigation, Maricopa County Sheriffs Office is NOT part of this investigation, I would not put any value whatsoever on anything any representative of MCSO has to say, specially coming from Sheriff Joke ArPayaso, his numbers and facts are nothing more than Monopoly Money, in other words it's Faux News.

BTW that article is an opinion piece.

janet never said the border was secure.. what she did say was that it was more secure than before.

Liar. Napolitano said she has asked Congress for additional funds to sustain enforcement programs and hire more officers, but because of federal budget constraints, some of the requests have been turned down. Napolitano said the border is more "secure than ever." She did not say the border was secure.

Tommy Collins... Well read, eruditious, reasonable & thoughtful attendant of Planet Earth, and retired Phoenix Po-leece.

To you, sir, my sincerest apologies.

I know neither you or Mr. Horne personally, but I can easily guess that your first names are all that you two have in common.

Good day, Steve Tracy

Railroad tracks are private property, any person or motorist must treat railroad tracks as a stop sign, must come to a full stop 25 feet from the nearest rail, look both ways and proceed only when determined that it is safe to do so, in this case it is permited to cross the railroad tracks in a safe, prompt, and efficient matter, it is not permited to stop or linger within 25 feet of the nearest rail on boths sides of the track or tracks, doing so can get you a ticket or arrested for tresspassing.  On crossings where there is a fully fuctioning Railroad Crossing with Flashers, Bells, and the all important Gates where the railroad takes responsiblity for warning anybody trying to cross it is not necessary to come to a complete stop except certain commercial vehicles, the 25 foot faul line still applies (usually a white stripe painted on the pavement), crossing the railroad tracks after the red flashers started flashing is illegal and can get you cited for running a red light, if the train had to engage the emergency brakes to avoid an accident fines are much stiffer with possible arrest.

Ah Steve, had I known it was you... anyway, once again I am NOT retired from Phoenix P.D., which is a pretty darn good large police agency, in my opinion. Just a smaller agency in the Denver metro area... and yes, I don't think Mr. Horne and I have much in common other than the first name, of which is mine of birth record. I will assume his is Thomas.. .not sure..

"The border is as secure as it ever was".

It doesnt mean impermeable does it, because that would be an impossibility and anybody the thinks otherwise is an idiot.
