For Sheriff Arpaio, Protesters Laid Out Red Carpet -- of New Times Issues Criticizing His Office

• Way off base. If either Fox or Black were female and there was a torrid, heterosexual love affair between these two intertwined with conspiracy and corruption involving both the MCSO and the Arizona Republican Party, it would still be hot news. And if that was how it rolled, would you be all butt-hurt and claiming that the New Times used heterosexuality as a weapon?

• "I read the particular article that was used for "red carpet", and it was vile, disgusting, barely even tabloid journalism..." Whats vile and disgusting is a disabled human being who gets killed in MCSO custody under Arpaio's watch. The reality is, Arpaio bashing, whatever form it takes, is a passionate statement made by those with deep feelings on this subject. The Sheriff, or any of his complicit underlings, do not deserve the basic respect or human acknowledgement that they so obviously fail to give anyone else. The Sheriff's office !!Deserves!! to be marred, with a passion! On a continuous basis until the corrupt leader either fails mechanically or is removed from his perch. The law may be free from passion but the loss of passion in Journalism would be the death of Journalism itself. The "Real news" here is the ability to evoke a response from you, even though you may not consider that something special, that alone, in and of itself, to get you to respond and evoke your passion, your emotion, is the goal of Journalism in many instances. Your opinion is fine, but your mindset is not in line with the other people who have been directly affected by the actions of this tyrant and his militia. The fact that Arpaio himself played along by walking on the papers opens him up to any well deserved criticism he may get, and seems to thrive on. Your opinion that, "Your paper used homosexuality as a weapon...", is your right to have but from a different perspective one could also say that the article was targeted at the particular individuals in the article in a manner designed to evoke a response from those individuals directly. Perhaps Sexuality has nothing to do with the article and there is a deeper, underlying, message. These people have done so many things to destroy others, that in my opinion, articles like this are warranted and well deserved, at the very, very least! Some victims of this tyranny find a certain satisfaction and comfort in these stories. A small comfort it may be, but better than what they have experienced at the hands of these criminal tyrants and oppressors who act under color of law. It is my opinion that MCSO, it's so called "Sheriff" and it's underlings, should be insulted and negatively focused on at every step until the tyranny has been taken down. Criminality, tyranny and oppression in the guise of "Law Enforcement" is personified by this "Sheriff", in the flesh. He and his core "Staff" do not deserve to breathe the same air as the thousands of victims they have offended against over the years. Arpaio and Hitler have the same mindset, the only difference is the environment and circumstances they find themselves in, the methodologies they choose to apply are very similar. People in Hitler's concentration camps Starved, Froze, were brutalized and murdered. In Arpaio's concentration camp, people starve, burn and are also brutalized and murdered! If the Sheriff could get away with gassing all the people in his tents under the justification of "Saving Tax Payer Dollars" rest assured, he would not have any second thoughts about doing it. And that is what makes him an evil tyrant. Including his support staff and the people who speak for him publicly trying to spin his crap into digestible nuggets. Fortunately, people who sense the truth understand what NT is doing and this is why being in line with the reality that this bunch of clowns at MCSO represent makes a difference in understanding why these articles are written.

There isn't a single decent reporter on your staff, even your fabled "Bird" couldn't land a job as a junior reporter for a real newspaper. Your paper used homosexuality as a weapon, feebly attempting to make some sort of "real story" out of something you simply wanted to mar Arapaio's office with. And to do this at a time when half the nation is in an uproar over gay bullyinging (which is exactly what your reporter is doing), is quite frankly, the height of stupidity, if not hubris. Why not resend your reporters (all of them) back to journalism school? Then maybe they would learn the difference between an editorial and a story, but I'd just settle for the difference between tabloid and real news.

• Lately, he's gone into his "charm" mode. When that's all uninformed newcomers or out-of-towners see, having no clue of the horrors, the mismanagement, the abuse of power, the horrendous sadistic behavior, the fiscal irresponsibility, and how much his reckless actions have cost us in lost lawsuits and claims, we shouldn't be surprised. You should have seen him sucking up to Channel 5 KPHO reporters Thurs. night, referencing their "telling it like it is" slogan in a complimentary way, etc. Very transparent, like saying "I'm open for you and your inquiries, not like the Governor who deliberately snubbed and excluded you from her little press conference the other day. I'm your friend." Political chicanery is his forte. Even otherwise intelligent people are conned by Arpaio. Had a holiday note from a couple who lives in a plains' state, never lived in Arizona, "We really like your sheriff." I filled them in on what his shenanigans and abuses have cost taxpayers so far.

• The MCSO shurf is the biggest joke in the United States AND the world. I have so much sympathy for the actual professionals over at MCSO who actually care about the job, the badge, and the uniform they put on. Those people have truly earned their salaries.
