Phoenix Woman Mad at Friends -- So She Set Her Apartment Building on Fire

If you're friends with Tiffanie Worz, don't make her angry...for her neighbors' sake.

A Phoenix woman was arrested yesterday for trying to burn her apartment building to the ground. When asked later why she set the blaze, 37-year-old Tiffanie Worz told investigators she was having a hard time securing a doctor's appointment, and was mad at some of her friends.

Last night about 9 p.m., fire crews were called to an apartment complex near 44th Street and Indian School Road. The building was on fire, and Worz admitted to intentionally setting the blaze.

According to fire officials, the blaze was started on the second floor of the building when Worz lit a piece of paper on fire and put it on her bed.

All 20 units in the complex share an attic, so the smoke spread quickly. At least five units suffered smoke damage because of the blaze.

All units were evacuated, and nobody was injured.

Aside from setting her bed on fire, Worz also told investigators she lit a trash can on fire near the apartment complex, as well.

Worz has been charged with arson of an occupied structure.

Why isn't this story listed under the tags of "Another Stupid Criminal Story"? To get back at your friends by setting ablaze to your own apartment unit, is quite possibly dumb as it gets.

And btw, she looks like she belongs in the loony bin, not at an apartment complex.

She is Schizophrenic, she was trying to get ahold of her doctor among anger at her friends so her thought process was very skewed. While I'm not saying she should get off for what she did, I wish the press would tell the whole story. She is a ward of the state, so my question is why no one made sure she was on her meds.

Ashley, good point. One reason why noone is able to check up on her, is due in part to our RepubliPUKE Totalitarian Dictators in the state Senate. Who are steering this retrograded state into a ditch. That leatherface Gov. of ours--Klan Brewer, has killed AHCCC, which I believed was this woman's only health insurance. Noticed that it also costs moolah to pay for mental illness medications. She probably could not afford it, due to what the RepubliPUKE Dictators are doing to our state's healthcare system. As a result, expect to see more "Stupid Criminals" committing criminal acts in a neighborhood near you.
