Phoenix Police Make Arrest in Murder of 90-Year-Old Do-Gooder

​It's been three months since 90-year-old Semoure Sendrow was murdered after withdrawing $20,000 from a bank to give to charities as his annual Christmas donation, and last night, police arrested the man they say killed him.

Apprehended was 22-year-old Eduardo Pimentel for Sendrow's murder. A second suspect is still loose.

About 8 a.m. on December 14, Sendrow and his wife were walking out of a Chase bank on the 6000 block of North 19th Avenue in Phoenix, when a man ran toward him.

The man pushed Sendrow to the ground, and stole a briefcase he was carrying that contained about $20,000 in cash he had planned to donate to charities.

Witnesses told police they saw two Hispanic men run away from the scene, one driving away in a late-'90s red Ford Mustang.

A witness confronted the other man running with the cash-filled briefcase, when the man dropped the briefcase and continued running.

Sendrow suffered a broken hip and several other injuries from the attack. His wife was uninjured.

Sendrow died from his injuries a few days later, and police decided to go public with their search for the two men about three weeks ago. It apparently paid off.

Pimentel copped to his involvement in the murder. He's been charged with aggravated robbery, weapon violations, and first-degree murder.
