Coco Crisp joins several athletes who've been busted for DUI in Scottsdale.
If you're a professional athlete looking to get nabbed for a DUI, look no further than Scottsdale.

In the past few years, celebrity athletes such as Mike Tyson, Charles Barkley, Seattle Seahawks tight-end Jerramy Stevens, and Edmonton Oilers goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin have found themselves on the wrong end of a breathalyzer in Scottsdale, and now we can add another name to the list: Oakland Athletics' outfielder Coco Crisp.

The A's released a statement this afternoon announcing that Crisp was arrested early this morning in Scottsdale on suspicion of DUI.

According to the team, Crisp was booked, released, and made it to Phoenix Municipal Stadium on time to take part in pre-game drills before the team's game with the Cleveland Indians.

The team says it's taking the situation "seriously" and won't comment further "until further details are available."

Crisp started his career with Cleveland and has since played for the Boston Red Sox, and Kansas City Royals before landing with the A's last season. He had a .279 batting average last year for Oakland, with eight home runs and 38 RBIs.

If convicted, Crisp could potentially face jail time. Khabibulin fought his DUI charge, and after a one-day trial last August, was found guilty and sentenced to 30 days (the minimum sentence) in the hoosegow. Many (even Canadians) saw the light sentence as a slap on the wrist, considering he didn't accept a plea deal and faced the possibility of six months behind bars.

Seriously? "Coco Crisp"? You have GOT to be kidding me. I didn't think I would see anything stupider than Chad Ochocinco, but this jick-jack just won the prize.
