Arizona's GOP Legislators Waste Time (and Tax Dollars) on Resolution Supporting Wisconsin Governor

Republicans in the Arizona state Senate pissed away their time and your tax dollars last week when they passed a resolution backing Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in his budget battle with labor unions and his efforts to put restrictions on collective bargaining for public employees.

Say what you will about what's going on in Wisconsin, we've got our own problems here in Arizona -- all of which were briefly ignored as Senate GOPers wasted time by officially lending the governor of another state a symbolic pat on the back.

"What a way to treat the state's students! These teachers are desperate to hold on to their gold-plated benefit plans, even if it means their students are the victims. Those in the private sector have dealt with pay cuts, benefit reductions, and in many cases, job loss. Now when Wisconsin union workers are asked to step up and give a modest concession, you see their reaction," brown-bashing, neo-Nazi-hugging Senate President Russell Pearce says in a statement.

Meanwhile, here in Arizona, there's a projected 2012 budget deficit of $1.15 billion.

The resolution passed in the Senate, with senators voting along party lines to jam it through the Republican-dominated body.

It should also be noted that Arizona Democrats recently organized a protest in support of Wisconsin's labor unions -- but at least they did it on their own time.

The bill now heads to the House, where elected officials will waste even more time discussing the problems of a state they don't represent and know nothing about.

While we are looking at the massive deficit and not enough money to go the needed places, how did pretty boy BABEU con the House (and soon, the Senate) into $5 million for use by HIM in HIS county alone? Has Babeu got you hypnotized that well?

The irony is that the $5 million is from PHOTO-RADAR monies the state has collected already. Babeu was elected mainly because of his stand AGAINST photo-radar. Kind of like mentor McCain, who was for amnesty and suddenly was against it.

Another irony is that Babeu's little brother is JP in Apache Junction and is currently fining photo-radar violators and the money is going into the $5 million gift from the taxpayers of Arizona to Babeu.

Both Babeu and Arpaio are from Massachusetts...and need to go back.

Massachusetts don't want the Flaccid Fool back. His sagging wrinkly face would scare everyone away.

My sources tell me that Babeu isn't that bad (the Puroll investigation says otherwise) and that Massachusetts' loss was Arizona's gain.....

Yup, we gained another Flaccid Fool. Just younger and bald.

Who is the working class of Arizona, now that they've deported the "slaves" they exploited to build this state?

If the working class is made up of those protesting in Wisconsin, then who's left to do the work? What about the "elite" class who double dips and provided health care and 6-figure pensions for themselves?

If I wrote the legislators on out of state or Federal issue, they would write back that it didn't concern them. Other then that they do not reply to correspondence or calls.

Amazing how our legislators (read:Republicans) can support one of their own about 2000 miles away from the real issues facing Arizona taxpayers. The state is bankrupt, eliminating AHCCCS, slashing police, and doling out millions to Pinal County......

What the fuck do I pay these people for? To play with themselves on the Senate floor?

Ain't nothing in Wisconsin anyway but beer, cheese and milk. Then again, ain't nothing in Arizona because of these misfits.....

Elected officials in this state don't know much about much, period.Other than taking care of themselves and their cronies.

Piece of s**t Pearce has been on the Government teat for as long as I can remember - silently 'fired as Director of MVD in Arizona for falsifying records in violation of federal law (Whats that -Pearce ignoring federal law??) Seems like he and his whole family is Arizona's answer to the James Gang - lawbreakers and scum. This legislature is so bad - the elections had to be rigged. No one in their right minds would vote for these sub-humans

it appears there aren't to many people in their right minds in Arizona.

Could be the education cuts, keep them stupid the politicians motto in Arizona, how else could these morons get elected.

I recall many investment firms and banks received trillions of dollars courtesy of the tax payers to cover their gambling in hedge funds and selling fraudulent investment packages. And the people got their bail out packages when? And the people were able to recoup lost employment when? Isn't the private bank, "The Federal Reserve Bank", contractually required to create an economical situation favorable for the creation of jobs for all citizens who need employment? This stinks like putrid monkey shit and the Federal Reserve and all the lying politicians and bankers need to eat a healthy mouthful of that monkey shit daily to go along with their psycopathic criminal actions.

Excuse me? These people have stepped up and stated that they would accept a reduction in pay, reduction in benefits, and an increase in the cost for their benefits, and Walker told 'em to piss up a rope. He wants the collective bargaining rights gutted, nothing less. Pearce is a two-faced liar, and he knows it.

You guys could have it worse there though, you could live here in Utah... I love this state for a million reasons, but I can't stand the lawmakers here. So far this year, there's been the state gun thing, a bill to make gardening a 'God-given' right(Seriously, they are wasting time trying to keep our gardens out of the feds' hands), a rule to make access of public records next to impossible, and a defeat of Gay rights. One bill that got shelved for now was to try and make job and housing discrimination perfectly legal if you could claim you did it for religious reasons(The sponsor of that bill was shocked,SHOCKED! to learn that people somehow thought he was passing a law to make discrimination legal). You would also be able to sue people who complained about your discrimination policies, so you got to fire them/evict them and THEN sue them...

Last year, Utah's big one was to claim Eminent Domain on all federal land in Utah and then turn around and sell it for oil and gas drilling. Around here we call these "message bills", meant to send some kind of "message" to the feds(I think the message is that Utah legislators are retarded, personally), and it's all they seem to focus on.

Of course, we don't have Pearce or Sheriff Joe, you win there. We also don't have Jan Brewer, but our own accidental governor is almost as stupid. I really didn't move here in time to observe Huntsman alot, but he and his family have done alot in Utah, and it seems that he ran this state well. If anyone out there is looking for a Republican that's not a total cock-knocker, he might just be the guy...

Can't wait for the day when The People actually take back government through revolution and toss all these worthless politicians in the garbage can.

None of them are worth a shit. Nothing but self serving assholes destroying what was once a great country with their power and greed while feeding off the tax payers backs.

Politicians like Pearce are like a diaper. Full of shit and they need to be changed often. But given the lack of any thoughtful analysis by many of our voters, this is the kind of lack-luster, wimpy, leadership exhibits. I believe Jon Talton terms it "kookacracy."

Russell Pearce, how many gold plated retirement benefits have you accumulated? Did you get to keep your retirement benefits from you DMV job? Even after committing crimes while on that job?

But of course, they wrote laws to make sure their corruption was protected.

Don't forget that Pearce worked for the MCSO shurf. I wonder if he got to keep his pension and his healthcare from that job?
