Joe Arpaio Says He's Mulling Run for U.S. Senate -- We Say He's Full of S**t

There's no chance in hell that Joe Arpaio runs for U.S. Senate. You heard it here first.
Maricopa County's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff in America," Joe Arpaio, says he's considering running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Senator Jon Kyl.

That said, New Times guaran-damn-tees he won't actually run.

"The issue is whether I want to leave this office and go to Washington and try to make a difference there, which I would do if I run and win," the 78-year-old Arpaio tells The Hill. "I think I could do that job."

Sorry, Joe, we've heard it all before.

As you may recall, Arpaio pulled a similar stunt last year when he claimed to be considering running for governor. And he did the same thing four years earlier, when he also claimed he was mulling over a run for the governorship.

In neither case did Arpaio actually run.

You see, Arpaio seems to get off on seeing his name in the headlines, and what better way to make that happen than to continually fuel speculation about potentially running for office -- and a poll showing he's the front-runner certainly doesn't help things.

According to a poll by the Summit Consulting Group, Arpaio leads other possible Republican candidates for the Senate seat.

The poll reported 21 percent of likely GOP voters would choose Arpaio; 17 percent would vote for Congressman Jeff Flake; 16.6 percent favored former TV pitchman J.D. Hayworth; 12 percent would vote for former Congressman John Shadegg, and 6 percent would choose freshman Congressman Ben Quayle.

Both Quayle and Shadegg have said they don't plan on running. We expect a similar announcement from Arpaio -- after he's sucked as much media attention possible out of "considering" a run, that is.

Arizona needs fresh new people who care about this state and its people. I am sick of these "life time" politicians and their sense of entitltement. Time for a change Arizona. Time for a change.

He's a mentally ill, stupid old man who needs to be ignored....

There is nothing stupid about Mr. Arpaio. He is an astute man who has many powerful people behind him. I don't agree with all his policies, but he has a job that nobody wants! In a sense, he has been used as a scapegoat, too, as a "poster child" against illegal immigration.

Since Arpaio Lite (Paul Babeau) announced he will be releasing the results of his sham investigation Arpaio has run 2 stunt raids & had his campaign manager include his name (probably first & certainly with a wide swath of Sun City included) in a sham poll. He's diverting attention from the investigation results (which will poo poo the allegations anyway). Why anybody falls for this slick Confidence Man's BS anymore is a mystery to me.

The "poll's" margin of error is also +/- 3%.Which essentially puts Arpaio head to head with the rest.

Now, poll non GOP in Arizona on Arpaio running for US Senate and your #1 candidate will be getthefuckoutofhere.

The fake justice department investigation of Sheriff Arpaio is going to do jack shit. He's not going to leave. Although he'd fit in nicely with the criminals in Congress he won't be allowed to run. His job is here and it's to hinder peace and prosperity.

(Doh!) Seriously, this is a no brainer. All I can say is that "Flaccid" old "Fool" is--

"Full of Shit" and nothing more.

It is by far the most idiotic announcment from the ghastly old hag himself. He's insane in the membranee.

of course he isnt going to run...Saban would likely win the special election, and no one would be around to cover the numerous illegal activities arpaio and his family partake in..Namely, pink boxer sales, and commissary money.

Arpaio is the right wing cock tease. He's not going to run, he just needed more money in his account and his supporters haven't figured this scam out yet.
