ASU Redux: Another Pac-10 Game, Another Flippin' Loss

In the world of standing headlines, the above one is getting quite very tiresome for Arizona State men's basketball fans.
The Sun Devils lost last night 79-62 to the formidable Washington Huskies at Wells Fargo Arena in a game they never were in once it really got going midway through the first half.

Oh, there was a moment early in the second half when ASU snuck back to within seven points of UW, but a 10-0 run by the visitors ended any hope.
It was the local squad's 11th straight league loss, which is getting into near-historic negative territory. The Devils may have a better chance at stealing that desperately needed win tomorrow afternoon at home against the Washington State Cougars.
ASU has got to be one of the worst free-throw shooting teams we've ever seen. Last night, the Devils sank just six of 19 attempts. A team of blind players probably could do better.
WSU is coming off a well-played (we watched it) 79-70 loss to league-leading Arizona down in Tucson. The Cougars have an all-league player in Klay Thompson, who is an offensive machine. Game will be aired on Channel 34 and on KTAR-620.
Tomorrow's big game, however, will occur down the road in the Old Pueblo, as Washington takes on the Wildcats in a nationally televised contest.
The Huskies won the earlier matchup in Seattle by 17 points, but finds itself two games behind the vastly improved Cats as the regular season hits the homestretch.
That one will be televised on ESPN at 4 p.m. (KFNX--1100AM on the radio). It's the biggest game in Tucson in some time.
