Willie Jigba Disappearance: Body Found in Tempe Town Lake Matches Description of Missing Tempe Man
|A body found in the Tempe Town Lake this morning matches the description of missing Tempe man Willie Jigba.|
Investigators returned to the lake this morning after suspending the two-day search of the lake for Jigba last night. In the lake this morning, investigators found a body floating about 30 feet off shore.
Jigba was last seen leaving a party in the 600 block of East Weber Drive in Tempe on January 15. Jigba couldn't find a ride and left the party alone. His path home took him directly past Tempe Town Lake, and he hasn't been heard from since.
Jigba was supposed to start a new job the next day, but never showed up. His family, Tempe police say, reported him missing that night.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene, and after a full examination will make the official determination as to identity of the body.
It's unclear if the body found this morning showed any signs of trauma that could indicate murder, however, Jigba was reportedly drinking the night he disappeared, and could have fallen into the lake accidentally -- if the body turns out to be his.
