The Only Words That Should Have Come Out of Sarah Palin's Mouth During Yesterday's Facebook Rant, Compliments of the Interwebs

Sarah Palin, as you may know, posted a video on Facebook yesterday, in which she defends herself against charges that she's in someway responsible for the tragedy that occurred in Tucson over the weekend.

Sarah Palin isn't responsible for what happened in Tucson -- mental illness is -- so her defending herself against charges that she's somehow responsible, we would say, is warranted. But did she really have to do it the same day as a memorial service held for those killed and wounded in the attack?

Many are arguing her video could have (and should have) waited until it wouldn't distract from the memorial service, which has led to a hilarious video making its way around the interwebs that we've dubbed "The Only Words That Should Have Out of Sarah Palin's Mouth During
Yesterday's Rant."

A letter the Arizona Republic won't print

My heart is breaking over the loss of the beautiful little girl, Christina Greene . It is a sad day when we must fear showing our children the value of citizenship, civics and democracy through political discourse, by showing up at events such as lst Saturday. I use to take my 8 year old granddaughter, Reese, to events with me and stopped doing so about 2 years ago when people started showing up with guns on their hips and signs that read, " we must water the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants". I attended town hall events in Queen Creek, for health care and heard people call Obama "a nigger socialist". There were signs with the precatory prayer, psalm 109.8, which is a curse, and calls for Obama's wife to be a widow and his children to be fatherless. I watched, as my Representative Jeff Flake allowed the misinformation regarding abortion and "death panels" to embellish and fuel the misinformed, misguided and misplaced anger. He only offered his fear that these imaginary things may happen. During the health care vote in Washington D.C., I saw black congressmen being spat on, while my own congressmen Jeff Flake and others, stood on the balcony and unfurled the Gadsden, "don't tread on me" flag, which only egged on the angry mob. It is unprecedented in our country that so many politicians would be complicit with the violent rhetoric and actions of any group. My Representative needs to rebuke his actions and apologize. I hope, that out of this tragedy, cooler heads may prevail regarding how we treat each other. We should never lose the ability to have spirited, passionate and lively debates threaded with honesty and respectful sincerity. I am sure that Christina Greene would have been that very sort of citizen and politician. If she had just been given the chance.

I agree, well said. What I don't think has been well communicated is that (I believe) no one believes that the radical right advocated or even intended to advocate assasination. What is being said is that the extreme vile expressed by them tends to incite and is misunderstood by the even more extreme radicals and unbalanced.

Eloquently said.

Boiled down to their essence, Palin's remarks are as follows:

1) Spritited, even over-the-top, debate is good, unless that debate is targetted at her.

2) During this time when we should all remember to respect that decent people may have opposing opinions, we should also remember that those who agree with her are good while those who disagree are "evil." (seriously, she used the word "evil."

At the end of the day she's just a windbag and a hypocrit. Jesus, who we all know guides American elections, did us all a favor when he caused her to lose her run for vice-president, with bonus points for causing her to quit the governor's office with more than two years to go.

Her speach is just a reminder of how great God's glory is, and how kind and loving a god he is.

Look, I am no Palin fan, but I would ask everyone what their reaction would be if you woke up one morning to find that some random maniac you had never met in a city you might never have visited had gone on a killing spree and prominent people were all over the media blaming you for the killing. Not your political party, not all those who shared your views, not all those from a similar group, but you personally. Blood on your hands.

I would have been pissed. I mean white-out overload pissed. And I would not have held off four days to make a public statement. I am sure many of us could have done a better job on the video, but its silly to say she should have held off longer. If you are worried about lost gravitas for the event last night, blame us Arizonans who showed up in souvenir T-shirts and turned the funeral into a pep rally.

Was she pleasuring herself during the heavy breathing and lip smacking?

Governor Sarah Palin is excoriated by the left and some of the right because she doesn’t fit well with the elites - she is not one of them.

She is just a regular American who resonates with other regular Americans. And the more they love her, the more the liberals hate her. Polls aside, she has a good chance now of defeating Obama in 2012.

The more they pile on her, the better she gets. She is in fact a unifier because she speaks straight over the heads of the media and articulates what most Americans think.

As far as her experience is concerned, she is better qualified than Barack Obama ever was and we know all about her. We know some things about Barack Obama and none of them are inspiring.

People don’t want to see the same old faces in the Republican primaries.

Go Sarah!

If Mrs. Palin is an accurate representation of "regular American[s]," God help us all.

Polls aside - wtf? You don't like the facts so you get to ignore them? No wonder you like Palin, she never lets the facts get in the way of a good emotional response either.

Take your warm fuzzy, limp-wristed feeling about the woman and go find your self an echo chamber. The rest of us will use facts and discernable ability to lead as the benchmarks for our votes.

"People don’t want to see the same old faces in the Republican primaries." Right, elect a drama queen right out of the soaps you sit and watch all day.

She isn't a regular American!!! Haha you have fallen for the totally FAKE persona! Please for the benefit of our country, do some serious research on her real record ( which is atrocious). The woman is a pathological liar and no I'm not a liberal. If only you really knew how wrong your comments are. Just ask Alaskans! She left Wasilla In huge debt and then walked out on her job as governor. I worry about our country when I see comments like yours which are not based on reality. And also she simply DOES NOT have more experience then the president. The fact you think she does is frightening! Read! Research FACTS and not opinion pages.

Well said, regular Americans are not quiters, nor are they liars. Palin was behind what was dubbed the "lie of the year" when she made up, with no basis in fact, the claim that Obama had death panels.

If Palin is a regular American, then we are all in trouble. But, you know what, it doesn't matter. I don't want a regular American, I want an exceptional American to lead me! What ever happened voting for the best and the brightest?

Is that what we as a country are now striving for? Regular?

Sorry but I don't want a "regular" American as my President.I'd prefer an exceptional American, which Ms Palin clearly is not.

Sarah Palin is so muthafuckin stupid she couldn't speak "over the head" of a snake in a wheel rut. She is so goddamned abysmally ignorant she thinks the tragedy in Tucson is all about her.

Sarah Palin is so dumb she only got into politics because she was unclear on the concept and hoping to win an erection.

"She is just a regular American"

No, she's not. She may not be the most educated or well-informed person out there, but she's had a lot of behind-the-scenes handling and media training -- certainly more than the average Jane or Joe. That folksy, down-home persona may have genuine roots but nowadays it is a carefully cultivated (and controlled) persona. We saw that in the aftermath of her interview with Katie Couric: she went from speaking freely (gaffes and all) to repeating carefully coached soundbites and limiting her appearances to a handful of sympathetic outlets.

Rumor has it that Sarah Palin rents this villa in Arizona:http://www.flickr.com/photos/5...

Is that your idea of just a regular American? Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge anyone for enjoying the finer homes, cars, etc., but Palin is just like the televangelists who uttered "Jesus" to get people to give their life savings and in turn, the televangelists had their fleet of limos, helicopters, jets and mansions.

Are you kidding me? She is exactly want we don't need in America. I don't want someone like me governing the country! I want a leader. Someone to move us in the right direction. She has no chace of that.

Sarah Palin is mentally unstable - it is becoming more apparent every day. This woman is in desperate need of help.

Mls944

I'm no fan of Sarah Palin but this video is hardly hilarious - it's just another juvenile stunt in a long line of childish actions from all sides of the political spectrum. It's a classic case of preaching to the choir - no Palin supporter (or undecided voter) will be swayed by this type of action. If anything, it reflects poorly on the people who have legitimate concerns about this woman's ability to lead the country.

We should be having real conversations, rather than promoting gimmicks that only serve to separate us further.
