In the wake of Saturday's shooting rampage that left six dead and 13 wounded, the satirical masterpiece that is The Onion is poking fun at Arizona's Wild West image.

It's hilarious -- check out a portion below:

"While Loughner is clearly a deranged madman who, with this heinous, tragic act, has proved to be a danger to himself and others, he has not explicitly violated any statutes currently on the books in Arizona," Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall said of the man whom witnesses saw murdering a 9-year-old girl and a federal judge. "We can only hope that if he acts out again, another Arizona citizen will be legally carrying a concealed firearm and be able to stop him." LaWall told reporters that the only way her state would have any legal recourse in the brutal slayings would be if Loughner were Mexican.

Too soon? This is a satirical story examining our state's obvious push to live like it's the 1800s again. Shit, if we couldn't laugh about it we'd all be crying.

Just in time, friends, Arizona needs all the ridicule it can get, and the sooner the better. Strike while the shootin' iron is hot!

Didn't click on it. Way too soon. The bodies aren't even buried yet. wow

Not if you actually understand how satire works. The focus here is AZ and gun rights activists, not the victims. Most people I know don't have a proper hold of what satire really is and how it works. It's social commentary through humor, not poking fun.

That's not to say you aren't entitled to your's just wrong. j/k...
