I just have a question. If you look at the shooters picture at a book fair in March 2010 he was a very good looking 22 year old. In the pictures of him now, he looks nothing like he did less than one year ago. How could someone physical appearance change so drastically, it boggles the mind. Unless it was just the way the picture was taken of him. Does anyone undersand that or maybe the press got a hold of a picture of someone that isn't him.

This kid was melting down for a good long while. Where were his friends and family, where was the school administration in all this, WHY did he not get the help he so obviously needed?

I cannot agree that Mr. Loughner's shooting spree was a random act of insanity and not borne of a political philosophy. I don't know where that came from. Loughner had been around Gabrielle Giffords in the past... he knew her. He targeted her deliberately only because she was convenient. The other victims were incidental but necessary to his cause, and that is where the insanity is. He feels no remorse. And we may never know what he intended to prove in the wholesale execution of these people. Nothing is ever proven in these events, except to get every crack-pot in town all wound up and buying more guns.And that's so easy to do here in Shootemupville. Loughner found it easy to buy a semi-auto 9mm. with an anti-personnel clip. He does not, apparently, drive his own car; and so Ms. Gifford's public address was his easy chance to go down in history... and now he has.We may never know for sure what finally pushed him past the lunee-line, never to return. He's lived in Tucson his entire life, but in 22 years, never did anything to get himself remanded to the state hospital. His family never put him in the hospital either, and that is easy to forgive them for. University police intercepted him five times for his peculiar behavior, but he was never arrested. The college's dean kicked his ass out of school, telling him he could re-matriculate only with clearance from a psych. doctor. He didn't bother with that.So why now ? he did plan ahead, I guess.All this has done is to get every hater and fanatic,from B.H. Obama to Rush Limbaugh to those Westbrook freaks talking alot and saying not one goddamned thing except this is someone else's fault. And there are six funerals to plan.I 100% agree with Loughner's mistrust of US government; I cannot agree with murder.My point was that schizophrenia often includes space aliens or an evil government out to get ya. And his paranoia about 2012 is another reason that he must make his statement heard now before it's too late. "dlew",I am "Crazy is as crazy does", and I could not believe the stupid responses I got to my initial posting from "Barrydewalt", "Jimmy Thefish", "Thestrategist, and especially that "Sarah9525" chick.I was not fighting, please know that, but I responded back sarcastically because these four whiners are too passionate about this sad story, and so they miss the only lesson one can learn from it.I can tell from personal observations that the truly dangerous psychotics amongst are the ones who are only intermittently insane, as seems to be the case with Mr. Loughner.Credit cards, Internet accounts, sporadic employment, matriculation to a local college, and 22 years on the streets tells me Loughner's journey into schizophrenia was a protracted and inconsistant trip, in which he often passed for sane, particularly if he felt threatened by police contact. He knew how to respond to official intrusions and that made him insane but aware also aware of the consequences should a cop catch on to him like his friends have.
