Divers Search Lake for Missing Tempe Man
|Divers are currently searching Tempe Town Lake for Willie Jigba, who has been missing since January 15.|
Tempe police tell New Times that police dogs got a "hit" while scouring the lake in search of Jigba. The "hit," police say, is not specific to Jigba. However, it's an indication that there could possibly be human remains below the surface of the lake.
Jigba was last seen leaving a party in the 600 block of East Weber Drive in Tempe on January 15. Jigba couldn't find a ride and left the party alone. His path home took him directly past Tempe Town Lake, and he hasn't been heard from since.
Jigba was supposed to start a new job the next day, but never showed up. His family, Tempe police say, reported him missing that night.
Jigba's family says it's not like him to simply not show up for work.
Cops say there's no sign of foul play, and Jigba isn't a threat to himself or others, but the fact that he didn't show up for work has them worried.
Authorities have been actively searching for Jigba since he was reported missing, but to no avail. He hasn't responded to phone calls or messages left by family and authorities.
Jigba is described as a black male, about six feet tall, and about 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about Jigba's whereabouts is asked to call the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.
