Free Pot Offered at California Clinic in Exchange for Food Brings Huge, Charitable Response

One potential benefit of Proposition 203 could be a boost in local food banks, if Arizona pot dispensaries follow the lead of one California clinic.

The Granny Purps marijuana dispensary in Soquel, California, has collected 11,000 pounds of food for a holiday charity drive in what the Santa Cruz Sentinel calls "a large and exceptional contribution for a business of its size."
The pot club's secret for success?
Free pot.
For every four cans of food customers brought in, Granny Purps doled out a free joint, said to be worth $10. (That can't be cartel schwag).

The donations benefited the Second Harvest Food Bank.

No doubt, plenty of Arizonans with extra cans on the shelf would love to take part in something like this -- and perhaps in a few months, when the state's dispensaries are up and running, they will.
